Wow...that was interesting I guess? Not sure what to make of that mess of a film. Paige can act decently but didn't have much to work with. Alot of dancing and weird facial expressions. Most of the film is dialogue and flashbacks which turn out to be confusing and open ended. The whole curse plot point is NEVER explained. This should NOT be labeled a horror movie by even the most lenient of genre enthusiasts. I was pretty disappointed to be quite frank. Thought I'd give a low budget thriller a chance for once and boy was I WRONG to try that. Guess I should just stick to major movie studio productions in the future ...

I like horror movies...GOOD horror movies...more than any other genre of film, and this flick is an insult to the genre. For a little more than an hour our heroine wanders around sometimes with and sometimes without our... hero...(?) before ANYTHING of interest happens. Alright, there is a moment of shock at one point in the first hour, but it is momentary and never expanded on. I give the flick (not to be confused with a movie) 1 star for the lovely setting of Ireland (both rural - briefly - and urban). If you're looking for a horror movie with scares of any kind, characters that won't get on your nerves with incessant and boring dialogue this is NOT the choice you want to make. If you MUST watch it (being a masochist, having no access to any other form of entertainment... whatever the reason) do yourself a favor and skip to the last 15 minutes when something of worth ALMOST happens...but doesn't.

The lead female is annoying and I don't think that she can act, that's a big part of the problem. Don't Talk to Strangers seems like a student project and in a bad way. The premise is completely ludicrous, that a woman would travel all the way to Ireland to meet a guy without seeing a photo of him or talking to him on the phone first. What sort of idiot would do such a thing, first of all, but even more than that, it seems highly improbable in our age of Internet and social media that our two main characters wouldn't face time or zoom each other. Just...utterly ludicrous.
I couldn't get past that point in the film.

I waste 5 euroa on this. Do NOT make the same mistake! Do not even watch this in a streaming service because your time is more valuable than this parc!
The main character Emma is absolutely the worst main character ever and I'm not sure where the problem lies: is she actually just a bad actress or is the director bad at their work.getting the performance out of the cast. The guy is alright, but overall watching those two discussing is giving me a head ache, mostly it's because Emma has horrible mannerisms and expressions.
The plot is no existent. There is NO point into anything and I cannot say anything about the plot because there is nothing to say. Horror this is not.
The only redeeming qualities that make me give a 2/10 instead of 1, is some what decent music, interesting cinematography and Ireland. I love Ireland and I love the accent and the environment. But please don't watch this, you have a thousand better things to do!

Twisted, dark and confusing is part of the lore here and Don't Talk to Strangers takes you on a trip to the obscure reaches of the mind and casts a shadow of insanity across the entire film. Even though, with all that dark insanity it just misses something. The steady incline of this slow burn doesn't have the power needed to propel itself into greatness or any semblance of it...... In order to really capitalize on the charm of a slow type of movie, there needs to be proper character development and a storyline fitting of the main players. While that wasn't entirely there, I can't say it was horrible. The voids were in the progression and how the nuances of each character intertwined with the atmosphere and theme. Nothing sets this film above the mainline and it sort of moves along with just enough...... Don't Talk to Strangers is one of those films that teeters on the gothic edge but doesn't quite cross over. Thematics and appeal is there along with acting. I did enjoy the twists and while it's by no means a gem nor a gore fest it does leave its mark on you.
