The controversial Jeremy Clarkson Sun column last year slamming Meghan Markle has been censured for “a pejorative and prejudicial reference to the Duchess of Sussex’s sex,” but escaped punishment for harassing her or being prejudicial on grounds of race.
UK newspaper regulator Ipso has immediately ordered Rupert Murdoch’s UK newspaper to publish a summary of the findings on the same page as the column appears along with the front page and on its website.
Ipso ruled that the former Top Gear host’s column, titled “One day, Harold the glove puppet will tell the truth about A Woman Talking B*****ks,” contained a “pejorative and prejudicial reference to the Duchess’ sex.”
The column, which was published in December 2022, said Markle should be “made to parade naked through the streets of every town in Britain while the crowds chant, ‘Shame!” and throw lumps of excrement at her” — a reference...

English broadcaster Jeremy Clarkson has issued a statement following his inflammatory comments about Meghan Markle. Jeremy had made the remarks about the Duchess of Sussex in a column for the UK tabloid ‘The Sun’. The ‘Clarkson’s Farm’ presenter shared a statement on social media, saying he is “horrified to have caused so much hurt,” reports ‘Variety’.
“Oh dear. I’ve rather put my foot in it,” a contrite Clarkson tweeted. “In a column I wrote about Meghan, I made a clumsy reference to a scene in ‘Game of Thrones’ and this has gone down badly with a great many people. I’m horrified to have caused so much hurt and I shall be more careful in future.”
According to ‘Variety’, in Clarkson’s December 16 column, titled ‘One day, Harold the glove puppet will tell the truth about A Woman Talking B******ks,’ the former ‘Top Gear’ presenter wrote of Markle: “I hate her.

CNN’s senior vice president of original series program development, Jon Adler, is exiting the cable news network by the end of the year. The news comes after the media company announced it would be pulling back on original series and documentary content commissioned by outside partners.
Adler, who has been with CNN for a decade, helped launch the CNN’s original programming slate, having worked across 30 series like “Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown,” “Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy” and “United Shades of America.” He was promoted to this role in March, ahead of the debut and eventual discontinuation of CNN+.

One Day, A Woman is screening at Japan Filmfest Hamburg
Yuko is a 30-something woman on her way home from work, discussing her life and loves with a colleague, before making her way to her small apartment. After preparing a meal, she sits down to some work when there is a ring at the doorbell. It is her ex-lover, Morimoto (Jin Arai), a married man who seems determined to still impose himself on her life. Forcing himself upon her physically, Yuko retaliates, the knife she used to prepare her meal close to hand, resulting in catastrophic events that...

Pluto TV is the network for those who aren’t sure what they want to watch. On a given day you can watch a David Cronenberg movie, the entirety of MTV’s “The Hills,” or go back in time and watch the original run of “Unsolved Mysteries.” Since going live in 2013, Pluto TV has been the little engine that could. It contains the network model of scheduled programming and commercials, but couches it within the streaming world of uncensored offerings, channels dedicated to specific content, and on-demand titles. The best thing? It’s all free. Or, actually, that’s now the second-best element of Pluto TV.
The network contains channels aimed at all manner of television fan, but what is now in the spotlight in the wake of the CBS and Viacom merger is how Pluto TV caters to classic television fans. Last year it unveiled an “One Day At a Time” channel,...

One Day at a Time is no more. The Netflix-turned-Pop TV comedy has been cancelled for a second time, after a truncated fourth season.
The decision comes as Pop TV gets out of the scripted series game. The network previously axed Florida Girls, which it had renewed for Season 2, as well as the Anna Paquin co-production Flack, which ultimately landed on Amazon Prime.

This coming week is a big one for Disney Plus, as the streamer is breaking convention and adding content on other days as well as Friday. The Mouse House’s platform typically only updates its library on the last day of the week, but the next seven days are an exception as new titles are also dropping on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Of course, we’re talking about the 17th’s Lego Star Wars Holiday Special and the 18th’s double bill series premiere of The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse. The reason why these titles aren’t landing on Friday along with the rest is because they have significant ties to those specific dates.

It’s Friday, and you know what that means. Yes, Disney Plus is unloading its latest haul of new content. This week’s batch isn’t one of the biggest ever, and doesn’t include any fresh movies, either originals or otherwise, but what it does offer up is a bevy of new TV episodes. Including one series premiere, one season finale and the latest installment of D+’s biggest show to date.
Obviously, that last one refers to The Mandalorian, with the third episode of season 2 dropping today. Titled “Chapter 11: The Heiress,” it sees Bryce Dallas Howard return to the director’s chair after helming an outing in season 1. It’s a key chapter in the unfolding story, too, featuring some exciting surprises.
Elsewhere, the Josh Gad-narrated Magic of Disney’s Animal Kingdom wraps up its first season, with an episode about a baby gorilla called Grace.

It’s Halloween Eve, and Disney Plus has a load of new content for you to enjoy this weekend. The Mouse House’s streaming service has previously made sure there were lots of spooky season movies and TV shows available to watch with its Halloween collection, which it launched at the beginning of the month, so today’s haul isn’t particularly focused on the holiday. Still, there are number of titles in it that you won’t want to miss.

As we head into the weekend before Halloween, the various major streaming services are offering up a load of great new content to keep you occupied. To be honest, this weekend’s haul isn’t one of the largest, with HBO Max, Hulu and Prime Video’s new additions being pretty thin on the ground, but at least Netflix and Disney Plus are bringing us a decent batch of movies and TV shows to keep you going until Monday.
The latter, for instance, delivers 11 new titles today, including new episodes of The Right Stuff, Weird but True and One Day at Disney and whole seasons of a couple of National Geographic docuseries. But the highlight of the load has to be Frozen spinoff Once Upon a Snowman, a new short film starring Josh Gad as Olaf that explores what happened to the loveable carrot-nosed critter following his creation during the first movie.

A new month means a load of new original content coming to Disney Plus. As much as their rich vault of classic titles is a huge draw, the Mouse House has made the year-old streaming service nearly essential for consumers with their regular delivery of original movies and TV series dropping weekly. And in November, there’s much to get excited for, including multiple episodes of many new shows, as well as a few fresh films.
First of all, obviously the most notable title on this list is The Mandalorian, which airs new installments every Friday of November after kicking off its second season on October 30th. Fans of that galaxy far, far away will also not want to miss the Lego Star Wars Holiday Special, which lands on Tuesday, November 17th, an unlikely mash-up sequel to both The Rise of Skywalker and 1978’s Star Wars Holiday Special.

ABC can’t really love these ratings from Clare Crawley’s “Bachelorette” premiere, but who knew we’d have NFL football on a Tuesday to contend with? CBS aired the makeup game last night, leading broadcast in ratings. ABC ended up as the night’s runner up. “The Bachelorette” hit a new low for a series premiere in terms of total viewers and tied its all-time low in the key demo. Pulling up the rear, on The CW, “Tell Me a Story” Season 2 made its (unsuccessful) broadcast-television debut. It’s Friday, and that means it’s time for the latest haul of new titles to hit Disney Plus. Similar to last week’s load, this October 9th delivers a decent batch of fresh content, including a bunch of new TV episodes, some National Geographic documentaries and, most notably, a couple of classic movies, such as another one of Fox’s X-Men films. The best of the lot, in fact.
Yup, 2003’s X2 is available on D+ from today. The second instalment in the X-franchise is still considered one of the finest of the whole series. Hugh Jackman stars as Logan, who discovers the forgotten secrets of his past when he returns to Alkali Lake to confront the wicked General Stryker (Brian Cox), who wants to use Professor X to wipe out mutantkind.

It's been more than 26 years since the original One Day at a Time sitcom ended on CBS. And now, a reboot of One Day at a Time is coming to the network's Monday night schedule -- albeit a week later than previously announced.
The family sitcom was rebooted in 2017 for Netflix, where it ran for three seasons before being cancelled. Pop TV rescued the series and ordered a fourth season. In a surprise twist, due to a shortage of original programming in the age of Covid-19, CBS has decided to air season four of the One Day at a Time reboot (Netflix retained exclusive rights to the first three seasons).

Disney Plus is adding 9 new titles this coming week to kick off October. September opened with one of the biggest streaming releases of the year, Mulan, so obviously this month is going to have a softer opening haul. Still, there are a few notable fresh movies and TV shows going up on the service this Friday, October 2nd.
To start with, there are a handful of new films being added to D+’s library, and 2008’s Beverly Hills Chihuahua is one of them. Starring Piper Perabo and Jamie Lee Curtis as the human leads and the voices of George Lopez and Andy Garcia, the movie – which started a pretty successful straight-to-dvd franchise for the Mouse House – follows the adventures of a couple of well-off Chihuahuas who get dognapped and taken to Mexico.

Pop TV had a huge Emmys breakthrough thanks to “Schitt’s Creek,” which is nominated 15 times this year including Best Comedy Series. So it was ironic on Wednesday night, September 16, when Cheryl Campsmith (“One Day at a Time”) claimed Best Multi-Camera Picture Editing for a Comedy Series at the Creative Arts Awards; since “Schitt” hasn’t won any of its nominations yet, that makes “One Day” the first Pop TV series to win an Emmy.

Disney Plus added a pretty big bulk of content to kick off September last week, but unfortunately, they won’t be following it up with another meaty one, as today only brings us 3 new titles to feast on. That being said, there’s at least one popular movie included that subscribers may want to check out.
To begin with, though, a few of the platform’s ongoing TV series have received new episodes. Those would be Weird But True Episode 305, “Photography” and One Day at Disney Episode 141, “Amanda Lauder: Chef Chocolatier.” Perhaps not the most exciting titles out there, but fans who’ve been following along will no doubt want to catch the latest installments.
As for the aforementioned movie, that’d be 2018’s Christopher Robin, the last cinematic outing for Winnie the Pooh which basically gave the Poohverse the Hook treatment. It stars Ewan McGregor as an all-grown-up Christopher Robin,...

There are plenty of superstars on television, but only a few icons. Let’s make it clear: Rita Moreno is one of those icons. For kids of my generation, we first knew her as the lady who screamed “Hey you guys!” at the start of PBS’ “The Electric Company.” My parents, of course, knew her as the spitfire in 1961’s “West Side Story.” Now, my kids know her as Lydia, the outspoken grandmother on “One Day at a Time.”
I’ve known Rita Moreno as a legend since the moment I knew what the word meant. Yet that didn’t prepare me for the raucous phone call I had with her early in the Covid-19 pandemic. With production halted on “One Day,” Moreno was back at her house in the Bay Area when I called to get her picks for Variety’s “TV Guilty Pleasure” feature.
