Kym is forced to reckon with the fact that she needs outside help to deal with Trevante acting out at school because of his learning differences.

Trevante's birth mom, Monique, reappears wanting to reunite with Trevante as Kym is going up for the most important role in her career. Kym decides that she wants to legally adopt Trevante.
