Do Aur Do Pyaar" might be flying under the radar in terms of marketing, but its impactful plot deserves to be discovered. This emotional roller coaster promises a theatrical experience on the big screen.
The film boasts impeccable performances from its entire cast, taking audiences on a two-hour plus journey filled with depth and emotion. Pratik Gandhi and Vidya Balan shine, stealing the spotlight with their compelling portrayals. Even with limited screen time, Illena and Sendhil deliver noteworthy performances. Thalaivasal Vijay adds genuine emotional depth to every scene he graces.
The plot unfolds slowly and steadily, akin to a live theatre performance translated onto the big screen. While this style might not appeal to everyone, it offers a refreshing change from typical mainstream cinema.
"Do Aur Do Pyaar" attempts to bring Netflix-style content to cinemas, blending depth with entertainment. This film is a must-watch, especially for its outstanding performances that elevate the narrative to new heights.

Interwoven complex mature relationships, this category of movies has a separate fan base & I am not one of them. So as far as my viewing prowess goes, Arth (1982) by Mahesh Bhatt was one of the first of its kind followed by Astitva (2000) by Mahesh Manjrekar but both these were pretty serious movies, but the recent ones are served with a dash of humour (Remember De De Pyar De - 2019) and for this who better than Vidya Balan. She was amazing in the movie & thanks to the team for rendering the classic - Bin tere sanam on some of the grooviest dance steps by Vidya Balan & Pratik Gandhi. Both Pratik Gandhi & Vidya Balan have made this average storyline work just because of their performances. Unexpectedly but on a good note the music and the songs were equally good. Ileana too shines in a short cameo. Would have really worked well for the production house if it was only an OTT release. This is a type of movie which will be mostly enjoyed by couples in their late 30's to early 40's & going through a bit of a turmoil in their existing marriage. An excellent weekend watch with your partner over a cup of cold coffee.
This movie is a romcom with a difference in the sense that the lead couple Kavya ( Vidya Balan) and Aniruddh ( Pratik Gandhi ) have been married for quite some time ( beyond the seven year itch ) and they now find that the fun, romance and spark are no longer there. ( Years earlier they had dated, fallen in love, eloped and got married ) . Now on a rebound they get involved with outsiders, she with Vikram ( Sendhil Ramamurthy) a foreign based photographer and he with Rosie a budding actress ( Ilena D'Cruz) and both are able to keep it a secret from each other. Due to an unexpected turn of events during a visit to Ooty they gradually become attached to each other once again after many years and after some time realise the futility of engaging in extramarital affairs.
Director Shirsha Guha Thakurta has made an interesting movie. The plot is fairly appealing but what makes the movie quite watchable is the realistic unfolding of the narrative, the relatable plot, the acting and the intermittent bits of humour which makes sitting through it an enjoyable experience. Normally marital issues in movies deal with conflict and distress but this one focuses on the lighter side of the manifestations of marriage. The everyday happenings in the life of a young married couple like the bickering, the arguments, the disagreements etc are all depicted in a humorous way. This makes viewing the movie a pleasant experience and one does not get bored. Both Pratik and Vidya have shown great chemistry in the scenes and have pulled off the humorous scenes with panache.

*** Do Aur Do Pyaar Hindi Movie Review ***
Directed by Shirsha Guha Thakurta starring Vidya Balan Pratik Gandhi in lead roles. Also starring Ileana D'Cruz and Sendhil Ramamurthy.
A story of an estranged couple's love story - A story must be told in today's time but a weak screenplay thereby detaching from the movie.
A story of a couple who had been married for 12 years had lost touch in their relationship. The movie takes us through the journey of Anirudh & Kavya, their estranged relationship and their extra marital relationship and the movie in the 1st half shows this both phases. At the interval we could see how things goes changing which leads us to the second half of the movie.
The second half shows us their attempt to restart in relationship, detachment from their external love but the screenplay in many areas falls nose dive as after a certain point it's becoming a slow paced & viewers get detached keeping aside the little fun moments.
Performance wise Pratik Gandhi & Vidya Balan gave their best performances. Illeana also done a decent job. Sendhil was a mis-cast.
Songs were blending with the situation.
Overall a topic which had been discussed well but with a better screenplay in 2nd half could have been much more watchable.

Kavya Ganesan and Ani Banerjee are on the verge of separation after 12 years into their marriage. Both are having affair with Vikram and Nora, respectively. Vikram is a photographer and Nora is an aspiring actress, both love their respective partners for who they are while Kavya and Ani resort to their pretend selves in their marriage. Just when they are finally planning to tell each other about ending the marriage, sparks fly enough to let them rekindle their love story. What happens when Kavya and Ani want to give themselves another chance while Vikram and Nora get restless waiting, forms rest of the story.
Sendhil as Vikram and Ileana as Nora are good but they are pushed to play second fiddle as the film truly belongs to Vidya Balan and Pratik Gandhi as they bring Kavya and Ani alive on screen. It is a complex story dealing with complex emotions and since I have not seen the original, I truly enjoyed the narrative getting driven by the conversations alone between Kavya and Ani. Those innuendos, the flirting and to keep the treatment as casual as possible is what worked the best for this film. However, bollywood's desperation for happy ending to be the only acceptable resolution, undid the efforts of the charming duo. It truly could have ended up as a superb film rather than a film with few superb moments. I hope the writers had put the same faith on their screenplay which they put on their lead pair.

A cheesy rom-com is quite common in any industry, but a mature love story is a rare scene. This falls under the latter category and has done justice to quite an extent.
It is the story of a couple who have been married for five years and are cheating with other partners as they have given up on each other. One evening, their love sparks again, and they fall in love with each other once more, but now they are in a dilemma.
Vidya Balan in the lead is a treat to watch. She handles her character with a lot of grace and quirkiness that you can't help but fall in love with her. Pratik Gandhi gives a decent performance, but as a Bengali character, he still sounds like a Gujarati, which is not ideal. The chemistry between Vidya and Pratik is literally not there, which is a big letdown. Ileana D'Cruz is a breath of fresh air and handles her part with a lot of grace. Sendhil Ramamurthy is brilliant in his portrayal of an NRI and shines throughout.
The story of getting bored in a marriage and seeking love outside of it is very common, and it is handled well by Shirsha Guha Thakurta. Despite being an innovative plot, you can guess the ending from miles away, which diminishes the overall experience. The songs aren't that great either.
The writing is a bit weak as it stays on the superficial level of the relationship and doesn't really make you root for the characters. As a result, viewers miss that emotional connection. It can be watched once, but there is nothing to boast about. #pranureviews #DoAurDoPyaar #DoAurDoPyaarReview.

Shirsha, in her directorial debut, has left an indelible mark with her impressive vision and storytelling prowess. This captivating film is undoubtedly a gem deserving of your time and attention. It's not just the storyline that shines; Shirsha's directorial finesse breathes life into every frame, showcasing a fresh perspective seldom seen in mainstream cinema. Her ability to capture emotions and navigate intricate narratives with finesse is commendable. As the credits roll, one can't help but anticipate the future projects that await under her direction. With each scene, she proves that gender is no barrier to artistic brilliance, paving the way for more female directors to make their mark in the industry. Here's to a future enriched by the cinematic offerings of talented women like Shirsha.

All the emotions, the witty exchanges, the petty arguments; it all felt incredibly authentic.
The storyline was simple, but it was a refreshing departure from the typical romantic tales we are so accustomed to.
The director excelled in capturing the dynamics of long-term relations, showcasing the nuances of married couples who have been together for over a decade.
Kudos to the actors as well, especially Vidya and Pratik, for delivering outstanding performances on their end which embodied the essence of a lifelike 'couplets'.
Having said that, the ending left a void, The final 25 minutes to be specific, were chaotic, lacking in consistency and tonal balance, which thereby disrupted the flow of the narrative, it leaves a lot to be desired.
If only it had taken a different turn...

Do Aur Do Pyaar (2024) :
Movie Review -
Shirsha Guha Thakurta brings an official Hindi adaptation of the Hollywood flick "The Lovers" (2017). This isn't actually an unknown story. To be more precise, Hollywood has made many extramarital affairs stories back in the 1940s-sometimes with a love triangle and once in a while with a quartet. The same was done by Bengali cinema and Bollywood in the 1970s, but on a very comic note. Do Aur Do Pyaar rehashes the same story again to bore us with its predictable content, but more than that, it's a boring film in itself. The conflict between a married couple who are cheating on each other could have been crispier and more emotional than this, I believe. When I thought that this two and two could make a four-star movie, they only ended up making a two-star movie. It went wrong theoretically, practically, and mathematically too.
Kavya (Vidya Balan) has been married to Ani (Pratik Gandhi) for more than a decade, but their marriage has no value and there has been no bonding since the last 5 years. They hardly speak like husband and wife; they hardly have sex; they only share the bed, not feelings; and they only talk about medicines and other regular stuff. In the last couple of years, both have found new lovers. Ani is having an affair with Nora (Ileana D'Cruz), while Kavya is in a relationship with a photographer named Vikram (Sendhil Ramamurthy). The basic thought is to get divorced and live with their new partners, but it all becomes complicated for Ani and Kavya when they come close to each other during a funeral trip to Ooty. After returning home, they have intimate sex, and things change for them. They both begin to like each other again and are now having problems talking to their new lovers, who are expecting some kind of commitment. What happens when these two learn about each other's affairs? Find out all the answers in the film.
Written by Suprotim Sengupta, Amrita Bagchi, and Eisha Chopra, Do Aur Do Pyaar seems like a messy script. I don't understand how a sudden sexual encounter can change everything for two people who hardly have any feelings left for each other. As if they were only lacking that thing. Really? Let it be.. But how can these two continue seeing their lovers when things are finally looking to be settling? Two people, who are so distant and somewhat disturbed too, are falling for the awkwardness of the situation rather than contemplating what's happened, which is totally out of logic. While doing so, they have to make the funeral scene funny. Why? Kavya and Ani land in Ooty, and the cab driver says, "Welcome," with a big smile on his face. Bro, they were in for a funeral, not a party. Come on, humour can't be so dumb, even by mistake. The differences between the couple aren't explored well either. We don't really know the reason behind their arguments or why they fell in love with their extramarital partners. After that long, boring drama, we finally come to the reconciliation part. I mean, seriously? It's too predictable for a film made in 2024. They were trailing behind by two decades, I guess.
Pratik Gandhi and Vidya Balan do not suit each other as a couple. Individually, they try their best and look fairly decent too, but the chemistry between a couple is missing. Not just chemistry, but even imagining them as a couple wasn't making any practical sense at those moments. Rather, the extramarital couples looked better. Pratik and Ileana look like lovebirds, and so do Vidya and Senthil. Ileana's character suffers from maturity, while Senthil lacks an accent. Pratik and Vidya share some spicy moments together that can be enjoyed for a while, but not afterwards. The taste fades away too quickly. The supporting cast is hardly noticeable since the screen space does not allow them to leave any mark on us.
On the technical front, we have Kartik Vijay handling the camera, and he was good at it. Maybe there are just too many close-ups that are like pain in the eye sometimes. The makeup department has made every character look gorgeous, especially Vidya Balan. You can notice a change in her physical appearance, even though her husband fails to notice the same (as she asks him in one scene). The editing is surely at fault here, as the narrative doesn't have a grip. The first half was still okay, but the second half was terribly slow. And why did they need those songs to make it even more tedious? Shirsha Guha Thakurta has tried a modern story that is too old for smart movie buffs. This idea of an extramarital affair actually doesn't have any issues left to showcase, yet some people think it is new. Karan Johar made Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna in 2006 and learned that these ideas are too bold for Indian society. 2024 isn't that changed to accept such ideas, and here, you have more problematic characters and more infidelity. Just imagine this metaphor: "cheating someone who is already cheating you." Who's at fault? The one who's cheating, or the one who's also cheating, or both? And how can one not be sensible enough to see itself in the mirror before or while pointing a finger at someone? See, this conflict is tough to crack, and one needs a lot of brainstorming to make a go at it. Do Aur Do Pyaar isn't that. No, not by far.
RATING - 4/10*

Do aur do pyaar is a drama film directed by shirsha guha thakurta.
The acting performances are superlative. Vidya balan, pratik gandhi, ileana d' cruz and sendhil ramamurthy, everyone leaves their mark. Balan and gandhi perform an impressive chemistry, charming and natural instantly. Their characters are really comolex and they play it out with utmost reverence. The other two actors are also pretty solid.
The music of this film is beautiful, its like morning coffee, sweet and fresh. The cinematography is pretty good. Its an urban film and the camerawork completes the spaces. The screenplay felt a little loose at some places, resulting in an increase in the runtime. It could have been chopped by 15-20 minutes. The dialogues are great.
The film has an inherent comedy to it which is not forced. Some dialogues, some scenes instantly make you laugh, and it makes us feel good. I liked how the writers wanted the extramarital affairs to have their own complexities. The characters of nora and vikram too get fleshed out and thankfully, never villainized. This is some mature film making. If anything you feel compassion for them, that they got tangled with one seriously confused couple.

It's nothing extraordinary. The topic of this film was last seen in the movie "Gehraaiyan" but had a really poor execution. DADP gets the execution right of a couple in extra marital affair because life seems boring in their current marriage. What eventually happens is pretty much known .
The performances in the film actually make the film one step above ordinary . Pratik Gandhi and Vidya Balan share a lovely chemistry. Their conversations keep you hooked to the otherwise what could have been a really boring watch. The humour often works really well especially the portions in Ooty .
The songs are nice, not chart busters but go really well with the mood of the film. Climax of the film was plain ordinary and nothing out of the box . This is why the film as I mentioned earlier is nothing extraordinary.
Overall, a decent one time watch !

What kind of movie is this? Is it about first fighting for love, then cheating when things don't go well, and then emotionally destroying your extramarital partners once you start getting that spark again? I don't think this is how a marriage should be. If you are not feeling good in a marriage, it's better to leave instead of cheating. Otherwise, stay, but cheating is bad. After watching it, I have to say one thing: I didn't like it. I don't understand why people are liking the movie. Maybe I'm missing something, but it just didn't resonate with me. The characters' actions felt unrealistic and immoral, and the story left me feeling frustrated rather than entertained.

"Do Aur Do Pyaar" is a classic Bollywood romance-drama that encapsulates the essence of love, friendship, and the trials that come with it. Directed by Ramesh Talwar, the film features a stellar cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini, Rishi Kapoor, and Neetu Singh, each delivering performances that are both memorable and heartfelt.
Plot Summary The movie revolves around two inseparable friends, Vijay (Amitabh Bachchan) and Ravi (Rishi Kapoor), who navigate the complexities of life and love. Their friendship is tested when they both fall for the same woman, the beautiful and compassionate Radha (Hema Malini). As they vie for her affection, their bond faces unprecedented strain.
Radha, on the other hand, is torn between the two men who mean the world to her. The film explores her journey of self-discovery as she grapples with her feelings and the impact of her choice on the lives of Vijay and Ravi.
Parallel to this love triangle, the story also delves into the life of Seema (Neetu Singh), Ravi's sister, who faces her own struggles and finds solace in an unexpected romance. Her subplot adds depth to the narrative, highlighting themes of resilience and hope.
Performances Amitabh Bachchan as Vijay delivers a powerful performance, embodying the character's intense emotions and internal conflicts. His portrayal of a man torn between love and friendship is both convincing and poignant.
Hema Malini shines as Radha, bringing grace and depth to her role. She portrays Radha's vulnerability and strength with equal finesse, making her a character that the audience can empathize with.
Rishi Kapoor as Ravi brings a youthful exuberance to the screen. His chemistry with both Amitabh and Hema is palpable, adding layers to the complex relationships portrayed in the film.
Neetu Singh as Seema is a breath of fresh air. Her character's journey is touching, and she delivers a performance that is both spirited and nuanced.
Direction and Cinematography Ramesh Talwar's direction is commendable, capturing the essence of the 1970s Bollywood romance while weaving a story that is timeless. The narrative pace is steady, allowing the characters to develop organically and the story to unfold naturally.
The cinematography by Sudarshan Nag is visually appealing, with picturesque locations and well-composed shots that enhance the emotional tone of the film. The vibrant colors and dramatic lighting reflect the highs and lows of the characters' journeys.
Music and Sound The music, composed by Laxmikant-Pyarelal, is one of the film's highlights. The soundtrack features memorable songs that have stood the test of time. The lyrics, penned by Anand Bakshi, are poetic and resonate with the themes of love and longing.
The background score complements the narrative, accentuating the emotional beats of the story without overshadowing the performances.
Themes and Execution "Do Aur Do Pyaar" explores themes of love, friendship, sacrifice, and the moral dilemmas that come with them. It delves into the complexities of human relationships and the choices that define our lives. The film strikes a balance between drama and romance, ensuring that the audience is engaged throughout.
The screenplay is well-written, with dialogues that are both impactful and relatable. The film's emotional depth is its strength, drawing the audience into the characters' worlds and making them invested in their outcomes.
Conclusion "Do Aur Do Pyaar" is a quintessential Bollywood romance-drama that captures the essence of its era while delivering a story that is timeless. Do Aur Do Pyaar attempts to navigate the complexities of modern marriages. While the film ambitiously delves into the realities of relationships teetering on the brink, it falls short of delivering a compelling narrative. The dragged screenplay blends realism with humor and drama, which falters in the second half.
The movie offers glimpses of brilliance, particularly in its performances and initial setup, but its inability to sustain momentum and pacing issues ultimately relegate it to mediocrity. Despite the promising premise, pacing issues hinder the overall viewing experience. The film struggles to maintain engagement, with scenes often overstaying their welcome.
In terms of performances, Vidya Balan shines with her portrayal, delivering a nuanced and emotive performance. Pratik impresses as well, showcasing palpable chemistry with Balan. Ileana D'Cruz handles her role with ease, although the same cannot be said for Sendhil Ramamurthy, whose portrayal comes across as average.
Direction 2/5 Acting 3/5 Dialogues 2/5 Story 2.5/5 Screenplay 2/5.

Direction by #ShirshaGuhaThakurta is good and sensible with a very smart narrative style. Produced by Sameer Nair, Deepak Segal, #TanujGarg, #AtulKasbekar & Swati Iyer Chawla, this movie is the official remake of the hollywood film #TheLovers written & directed by #AzazelJacobs, which debates Marriage and arguably glories Infidelity as the better institution.
Performances by the lead protagonists #VidyaBalan & #PratikGandhi are superb with their intricate nuances, but the supporting leads #IleanaDCruz & #SendhilRamamurthy failed miserably to portray their parts. Cinematography by #KartikVijay is average and the editing by #BardroyBarretto could have been 10 minutes crisper. The screenplay renders mundane intermittently with monotonous sequences, barring some light moments though. The overall film seems to pace like a short film or a telefilm. The music is absolutely not good, and the background score is fair. Production companies #ApplauseEntertainment & #EllipsisEntertainmentProduction and distributors #AAFilms have made a futile effort to back up this project. Absolutely, you may give it a miss.

A real story on marriage put together in a perfect box!
So perfectly paced.. This movie teaches a lot and shows reality of married life and how the romance drops.. but the love is never fades.. Its the romance which drops after few years..but love stays forever.
This movie shows how to respectfully stay apart and still be there when they want eachother.
I personally enjoyed this movie the cast..the story line.. the pace of the movie and how natural and genuine it feels. The acting is superb by Pratik Gandhi & Vidya Balan. The entire cast including the Father of Vidya Balan in this movie has acted so intense and into the character.
LOVELY MOVIE...!! <3.

Expanding on the initial critique, let's dive deeper into the shortcomings of this film. To begin with, the dialogue delivery is noticeably subpar. It's not just the way the actors deliver their lines but also the content of the dialogues themselves that is problematic. The script feels as though it was penned by someone with a very limited command of both Hindi and English. This linguistic inconsistency is glaring and detracts significantly from the viewing experience. In a film, language serves as the backbone of storytelling, and when it falters, the entire narrative structure weakens. Here, the dialogue doesn't just fall flat-it actively hinders the flow of the movie.
The producer's role in this linguistic confusion cannot be overlooked. It seems there was a lack of clarity from the outset about which language the film should predominantly feature. This indecision manifests in a jumbled script where neither Hindi nor English is effectively utilized. It's as if the movie is caught in a no-man's-land between the two languages, failing to commit fully to either. Such a fundamental oversight is difficult to forgive in a professional production, as it suggests a lack of direction and vision from the top down.

Movie depicts and highlights extra marital affairs as nothing. Justifies cold behavior on a funeral, please rethink as the same if it was someone you love.
Whatever numbers i gave is only for acting. Instead of showing what is correct, it shows submitting to your bad thoughts. Its like if you are frustrated you are allowed to do anything. Nothing is wrong on that. Damn idiotic.
This movie is just like any other so called modern era movies. It would have been much better if yhe problems were highlighted and resolved in the correct possible way. Some people might think who decides what is correct. Please stop thinking each perspective matters. Sometimes some scenarios this philisophy is bogus. You know murder is wrong in all scenario. Its not justice. Skipping self defence part. Please save ur time by not watching this.
