A live-action adaptation of Robert Kirkman’s Invincible was announced four years before the animated series even premiered on Prime Video, and still, there’s been little movement on the movie. Is it even still happening? According to Kirkman, apparently so. They’re just taking their time with it.
“It’s still in development,” Kirkman said at San Diego Comic-Con (via The Direct). “We’re still working with Universal. You know, the show is going so well. I think the movie absolutely has to be perfect. And so it’s taking a lot of time, like getting the pieces aligned and getting everything to work so that we can come out and make it as good as it can possibly be. So it’s been in development for a long time, and it’s probably going to be in development for a while longer.“

From out of the shadows of indie comic books to the bright lights of Hollywood, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is one of the unlikeliest success stories in modern popular culture. Centered around juvenile ninjutsu masters Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo, and Donatello, plus their many friends and enemies, Tmnt has outlived most other franchises from the 1980s. Its cultural dominance of 40 years is asserted across comics, cartoons, big-budget movies, and, of course, collectors’ shelves.
What has given the Ninja Turtles their lasting legs, aside from their intense training, is simply the genius of creators Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird. Warner Bros. Entertainment has dropped the first teaser trailer for the upcoming two-part, R-rated animated Watchmen movie, which I must admit, I had entirely forgotten about.
The project was first announced in 2017, but we haven’t heard much since. The trailer was screened for audiences at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival, where it was confirmed that the CG-animated movie would be released in two parts. Chapter I will be released later this summer (with Blu-ray.com giving an August 13th release) with Chapter II coming in 2025.

Ubisoft’s upcoming game, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, has stirred up quite a bit of controversy, and it’s not just about the main character. While the community debates over Yasuke as the protagonist, popular Twitch streamer Asmongold has a different issue with the game: its pricing.
Many fans are outraged over the game’s pricing. The Gold Edition of the game is priced at $110 Usd, and the Ultimate Edition is even higher at $130 Usd.
Asmongold’s Critique of Ubisoft’s Pricing Strategy This game is just full of controversy.

Paramount scored a solid hit last year with the stylish and witty Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, and the studio already has a sequel to that one bubbling away in a cauldron of ooze, scheduled to land in 2026. Yet it clearly feels there is room to also revisit the characters in live-action form, and to take the concept in a darker, grittier and altogether more violent direction, setting up an adaptation of popular Idw comics title Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin.
Turtles comic co-creator Kevin Eastman and Tom Waltz wrote the book based on an older story by Eastman and his co-creator Peter Laird, while the art came courtesy of Esau and Isaac Escorza, Ben Bishop and Eastman.

After the success of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, inspiring a sequel and animated series, Paramount Pictures continues to go all in on Turtle Power. THR reports that the studio is now developing a new R-rated, live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie.

The 40-year-old, kid-friendly franchise Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is returning to movie theaters in live action, in a project that Paramount Pictures is targeting instead for adults.
The studio is developing the bloody and intense graphic novel series “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin” with screenwriter Tyler Burton Smith (“Boy Kills World”) and Walter Hamada’s 18hz production company through his multi-year deal. The 2020-2022 miniseries — written by original “Turtles” creators Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, with Eastman and Tom Waltz developing the script — is set in a bleak, dystopian future in which Oroku Hiroto, the grandson of the Turtles’ arch-nemesis, Shredder, rules New York City as a totalitarian despot. Hiroto has killed all but one of the Turtles, as well as their mentor, Splinter; the remaining Turtle seeks revenge by wielding all four of their signature weapons.

The "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" franchise has been rolling and evolving non-stop since the original Mirage Studios comic book series was adapted into an animated series in 1987 and a live-action blockbuster movie in 1990, which essentially created the modern superhero comedy. Since then, there have been a variety of sequels and reboots in film and television, including the stellar animated overhaul that impressed the hell out of us in "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem" last year. But we're about to get another live-action "Tmnt" movie that will adapt one of the darkest comic book storylines in the franchise's history.
Paramount Pictures will be turning the hit comic book miniseries "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin" into a live-action movie. This is a huge deal, especially since The Hollywood Reporter says it'll be R-rated, a first for the franchise. Tyler Burton Smith is set to write the screenplay, with Walter Hamada producing.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are one of the more iconic characters in pop culture history. At first, it began as a comic that was later licensed as a toy line that became a TV animated series. Fans of all ages have enjoyed the Tmnt universe in all the different eras. But there is always a unique comic that stands out for being too greedy.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin is an upcoming game that is based on a comic book miniseries with the same name. Finally stepping into a more mature story than what fans have grown accustomed to when hearing the words Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, this adaptation will perhaps be the bloodiest and most brutal yet, and if it does well, maybe a start of a brand new gaming universe for the turtles in a half shell.
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise has undergone many changes over the years – from comics to movies, shows, and games. The core of the franchise remains the same – four mutant turtles battling a ninja cult. Black Forest Games will soon share their take on the beloved brothers, with a focus on The Last Ronin.

Idw Publishing is staying in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles business. The comic book company has renewed its licensing deal with Paramount, which has held the rights to the classic characters since 2009.
Under the renewed deal, Idw plans on releasing multiple titles in honor of the property’s 40th anniversary. Among them is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin II – Re-Evolution, a sequel to The Last Ronin, which took place in an alternate future and was based on a long-lost outline from the 1980s written by Tmnt creators Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman. The new installment arrives March 6.
”We are delighted to continue our relationship with Idw Publishing for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comics and graphic novels,” said Lourdes Arocho, SVP, licensing & publishing, consumer products, Paramount. “After 40 years, there are still so many more stories to be told, and we can’t wait for everyone to see what’s next.

Following the end of 2020’s massively successful mini-series Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin, the heroes in a half shell are officially gone — at least, in one continuity dubbed the “Ronin-verse.” In their absence, a new generation is ready to pick up the mantle.
