Mariana loses her leg due to cancer. To deal with her depression, she writes in a diary that magically connects her with Berenice. Through the diary the girls meet and fall in love.

As Mariana deals with the chemo, Berenice insists that "something" will come for her. Both fight against that which threatens to end them. Mariana insists on saving Berenice from what she persecutes and insists on seeing her, but they discover that her love is only possible through newspapers.

Lorenza is determined to annoy Mariana, she attacks her for her condition but she decides to ignore her. Later, Mariana stops Nika from taking her life.

Mariana is contacted by Agatha who gives her news of Berenice, who has been incommunicado. Mariana finds out that since her last meeting, Berenice is now Agatha's mother and has been consumed by pancreatic cancer.
