Based on a novel by Furukawa Hideo which is a render of Tale of the Heike, a 13th-century historical epic of medieval Japanese literature narrating the rise and fall during the Genpei War of the Taira clan.
The anime received an advance stream starting on September 16 on FOD (Fuji TV On Demand), bilibili and Funimation. It will be broadcasted on Fuji TV's +Ultra programming block in Winter 2022.
