The Unhappy Recruit

Sharkey is deflated that his men have come in last in the company boot camp competitions. He tries to find why the men are listless and unhappy, all the while berating them. Lt. Whipple reports to Capt. Quinlan how quickly the men have fallen under Sharkey's command. Sharkey narrows the source down to Recruit Mignone (Barry Pearl) being the one who is unhappy. He plans to employ psychological tactics against Mignone, but the recruit now feels he has permission to leave.
