This series took a while for me to start liking it and I had been tempted to give up after the third episode. I'm relieved that I stayed with it though as I enjoyed it in the end.
It's very "Finnish", which is what threw me off on the beginning. I used to live in Finland and once I relaxed back into the humorous undercurrents, stoicism and vastness of Finnish life, I "got it".
Alongside the crimes she and her partner Samu are solving (one per episode), lead character Maria Pudas is training for her comeback fight after an absence from the boxing ring of two years. Woven into this story are the normal domestic dramas of her large family and circle of friends.
As I said, it grew on me and I'd recommend a watch. As is usual these days, there was a massive cliffhanger at the end so we'll have to wait for a resolution during a presumed second season.
