It's fun to watch if you are up for a B movie with B movie acting, B movie direction, and B movie budgets. I was in that mood and it was enjoyable. However, by reading the other reviews you would think this is a world class piece of cinema...it is not and if you are expecting that you will be sorely disappointed.
It's very strange how the main character and supporting characters are rarely filmed in frame together. You get the shoulder or arm while the other is talking. It's almost as if the movie was edited together at the end with the actors doing all independent dialogue. With that said, this is not a bad B Movie.

It could have been a fun little watch if it had wrapped up in about 80 minutes or less. Instead, it drags on for almost 2 hours with very little content. Most of it consists of pauses between dialogues, which became fairly annoying. I enjoy comedy horror, and the premise sounded interesting enough, but finishing it felt more like a chore because of its length. The jokes were meh; there were one or two that elicited a chuckle. The acting was okay for the most part, especially the main character who did a decent job. The movie was decently shot, although some parts felt like they were missing background music.

For Sale is for the birds. I knew it was a low-budget horror comedy so I did not have unrealistic expectations. It's just that the main character has no redeeming qualities what-so-ever. He has the emotional insight of a toaster, and all of the "little details" that were probably supposed to make the movie more realistic were just annoying. Why can't this man afford a motel room? Why can't he afford take out? He sticks a cheap microwave meal in a gas oven on broil without a pan underneath and wonders why it melts and catches on fire. So he's pushing 50, is so cheap he doesn't feed himself properly (but says he has good suits and is absolutely rolling in alcohol) and can't even cook a microwave meal that a tween could heat up.
His incompetence and stinginess makes his character a joke since he says his biggest fear is failure. He tries to sell a murder house where chairs scoot around on their own and he can't open a locked door.
Mmkay.

While For Sale is not at all a good movie, it was still very enjoyable to watch. My friend and I was just laughing the entire time just because of the horrible timing and the random scenes that made no sense or added to the movie at all. I do at least recommended this movie for a good laugh but in the end I don't think that is what they were going for at all.
The acting just overall was pretty bad and I wouldn't watch anything else the actors are in. Maybe if they got better at acting but most of this was just uncomfortable and hard to watch. None of the gore was good and some of the ghosts were just weird. I would venture to guess they spent most of their budget on the ghosts because the outfits were horrible and nothing was nicely put together, they didn't go into the depth of the ghosts enough for it to be a ghost movie.

Suffice it to say that I had never heard about the 2024 horror comedy "For Sale" prior to sitting down to watch it. But given my love of all things horror, and with this being a horror comedy that I hadn't already seen, of course I opted to sit down and watch the movie.
Writers Jordan Friedberg and Christopher Schrack had every opportunity to impress and entertain me here, because I harbored zero expectations to the movie, as I virtually didn't know what I was in for here. However, I have to say that the movie was stale and monotonous. It was greatly lacking in both horror and comedy genres, making it a rather bland and pointless movie to sit through. And it didn't help much that the narrative was sluggish and nothing much of anything worthwhile happened throughout the course of the 115 minutes that the movie ran for.
Of course I wasn't familiar with the cast ensemble in the movie. The acting performances were fair, but nothing outstanding or particularly memorable though. While I do tend to enjoy watching movies with unfamiliar talents and faces on the screen, then "For Sale" just didn't win me over.
Visually then you're not in for any memorable treats here, as "For Sale" was a movie that ran on a minimal amount of special effects. Whatever little effects were in the movie were passable, though.
Running at 115 minutes and without nothing interesting happening, it was bordering on being torture sitting through this movie from director Christopher Schrack. It could seriously have benefitted from a generous trim in the editing room. The movie is just too long and slow paced to make it entertaining sitting through.
If you enjoy horror comedies, I wouldn't recommend that you waste 115 minutes of sitting through "For Sale". Some of us virtually suffered through this so you don't have to. You're very welcome.
My rating of "For Sale" lands on a very generous three out of ten stars, and that is based mostly on the production value of the movie.

First off it's really not a bad movie, I thought it would be horrible after the first couple minutes but that never happened. There was something so strange here that I actually found it compelling and hard to look away. I know it's a B movie with B or lower actors and film crew but I really left impressed with the lead actors and would like to see them in bigger productions.
The horror was more fun than horror but there were definitely some super creepy moments but the fun side overrides all of that even when bad stuff happens there s a bit of humor or fun to it all.
I dont think this will be one of those movies that i come back to again but I dont feel like I lost anything by watching it. Bottom line is good fun horror on a budget with a couple decent actors (a couple ,not all).
For the budget and crew I think there is really something here to be proud of!

I can't recall whether I checked the rating for this on IMDB or not prior to watching it, but if I did, I'm glad I ignored it. It's far better than the current 4.9 stars. Some of the acting is rather amateurish, but that only added to my enjoyment of this film. The main characters are very good, and I found a good bit of humor in the script as well as some fairly scary moments. It's not going to give you nightmares, and probably is more in the genre of Beetlejuice (sp?), but I've seen far worse films that were rated higher. I think this was a recommendation from Amazon, and it worked for me. Definitely recommended if you want a horror comedy that's not particularly heavy on either, but is entertaining nonetheless.

But this was was fantastic. Funny. Scary. Great story line. Likeable characters. Cheesy and corny and a little predictable with unpredictable moments. As soon as you let your guard down from laughing, you was covering your eyes. It was a little long, but I couldn't stop watching. I love these horror comedies!
Probably on the low budget scale but that didn't take away from the movie.
Absolutely fan-tastic!
There was a few jump scares that I hate but nothing bad and it was pretty predictable too so it wasn't anything that you just didn't want to watch, but enough where you squinted your eyes haha.

"For Sale is a delightful blend of fine acting, witty humour and just the right amount of scares. From the start, the story grabs your attention with its intriguing premise and quirky characters, setting the stage for a wild ride of laughs and scares.
The main character's shady business ethics add a layer of hilarity to the narrative, as we watch him navigate a series of dubious deals with a charmingly cavalier attitude. However, when one particularly nefarious business deal backfires, the consequences are swift and severe. The main character's downfall sets off a chain of events that sends him spiralling down a slippery slope, losing not only his girlfriend but also his sense of security and belonging.
As the story unfolds, disbelief in ghosts becomes a central theme, leading to a series of creepy encounters expertly balanced with humour. The scares are moderate but effective, and serve as a perfect complement to the comedic elements of the plot.
While there is a slight lull in the middle of the film, where the pacing momentarily drops, it quickly picks up again and keeps the viewer engaged until the very end. The performances are top-notch, with the cast delivering their lines with impeccable timing and wit.
Overall, For Sale is a film well worth your time. It offers a refreshing blend of humour and horror, with enough twists and turns to keep you entertained from start to finish. So grab your popcorn, dim the lights and prepare for a thoroughly enjoyable viewing experience.

Loved Andrew Roth in this movie. Just the right amount of cheesiness, amount of humor & amount of gore. Usually they add way too much gore & it ruins the story but not in this one. Love that it's a ghost-comedy.
As for Mr. Roth? He nails the part of the sleezy salesman guy. His performance makes him believable & he is able to add the perfect amount of humor. All the characters were fun & quirky. Sure, it's not some big blockbuster. But it's not supposed to be. Its fun & everyone needs some fun in their lives. Love it! Hope to see Andrew Roth in more horror-comedies in the future. Worth watching for sure! Enjoy. :-)

Sometimes I see a movie rated under 5 on IMDb and choose to ignore it. Over a 6 will be a film I enjoy and under 5 will suck. So based on the premise I threw caution to the wind and am glad I did.
The premise of a salesman having to sell a haunted house will already introduce some potentially funny moments and well this film is labelled horror comedy. A lot of the comedy is actually situational. The events in the film I would say are amusing but just don't go into it thinking you're gonna get a laugh out loud comedy.
Instead, what you're going to get is a clever little character study and a quite effectively creepy haunted house but I wasn't surprised at was the humanity through a fantastic performance by Andrew Roth.
Looking at the behind-the-scenes of this film with a two man crew and a 20 day shoot I think they have effectively managed to create a great movie with limited means and they should be commended for that.
The true measure of how much I enjoy a film is after the end critics roll do I immediately start looking for a Blu-ray release, which I'm about to do now. The one thing I never do is sign into IMDb in order to post to review, but I like this film so much I have to say my peace.

If this is B budget movie; more power to the "B"!
I laughed so much at the sarcasm and acting! Well thought out movie and special effects were pretty darn good!
I would watch this again! Scary, hilarious, tearful; when he loses his love, life, and feels the guilt of murder.
For a movie with darn good acting from unknowns, at least not that I know, I really enjoyed the way the scenes played out.
For the negative reviews, hey we all have an opinion. We enjoyed this movie and for a new movie post Covid it makes me look forward to more to come.
The young actress playing the medium brings me the hilarious sarcasm I haven't seen since the movie "Elf". Bravo, Bravo "Play it again, Sam"

My husband and I just watched this and it kept us entertained. I normally don't watch B movies but this one was funny. The main actor in the film, Andrew Roth, I could see has talent which is why I kept watching the movie. The other actors weren't bad either considering it's a budget movie. But I hope Andrew Roth continues to do other films as he is what held the movie together. I'm going to check out what other movies he has been in too since I thought he looked familiar and was wondering if I've seen him in other things.
The movie is not a masterpiece but if you enjoy comedy/ horror then this is a fun movie .

A two-bit hustler salesman loses his job and then his wife. With no home and no prospects, he ends up taking a job selling a hard-to-sell house.
Hard to sell because it's haunted.
He moves in and begins hustling (showing) the property to would-be buyers.
"For Sale" is as amusing as it is spooky. There's some seriously good acting, especially from Andrew Roth who plays the sardonic main character, Mason, a grifting hustler turned realtor whose desperation leads him to this creepy predicament.
For a low budget haunted house story, For Sale is satisfying, almost entirely because of Andrew Roth's delivery.

I ended up really enjoying this movie.
After some of the more negative reviews I'm surprised. I thought this would be the kind of movie I play in the background while I draw but kept stopping and watching. And still drawing here and there. Actually had some real out loud giggles!
I think I would categorize this more as a comedy. Light entertainment with not too much thinking. All the actors were pretty good. Especially the lead. I'm gonna check out what else he is in.

Just watched For Sale. Very fun movie with a great mix of funny and scary. Hard balance to achieve but it really works. Chris Schrack has directed yet again an award winning film. The screen play was perfectly written and executed. The acting was top tier for the entire cast. Andrew Roth, a very under appreciated actor, gave a wonderful performance. From lighting and especially sound, the technical aspects out performed films with 100x the budget. Can only imagine what Schrack could with a studio-backed film budget.
Oh... the music... it sets the tone for the entire film from the first moments and opening credits.
Highest recommendation's!

As far as the movie goes I just wanted to watch something scary. This movie was pretty creepy at times and I didn't think anything was over the top. Im really not sure what most of the people in these reviews are talking about but we're all entitled to our opinions. But I have to say to say that they are wrong lol. Very good scary movie with a good plot. As for the length I refer scary movies be around this length because it gives great time to optimize the plot. If this was done in about and hour 15 mins there would be no plot. With a 2 hour movie we got to learn about the main guy perfectly.
As a general rule, horror flicks do not get a lot of respect, but this movie deserves more love than what it is receiving ! It is an independent film with pretty darn good production value. More important, it has an original plot idea: an unscrupulous salesman-of-all-trades tries his hand at selling a mischievous house and in the end, redeems his lifelong wrongdoings to end up the hero.
Actor Andrew Roth (Mason McGinness) carries this movie beautifully. This actor has had a few prime time roles, but his talents demand a lot more! His sardonic delivery makes the humor in this movie shine. After Roth, Steve Montague (Mr. Bendt) shines as the creepily funny broker and Corinne Britti (Claire) as the wacky medium. Director/writer Christopher Schrack did a great job and it is worth a watch.
