This fun series is centred on Cecily Campbell a young night living in a free trade city. At the start of the series she is very determined but also somewhat lacking in ability, her sword is broken in a fight and she is rescued by Luke Ainsworth who is both a skilled swordsman and a master blacksmith. She wants him to make a new sword for him but she can't afford the price, luckily she soon come into possession of a new sword, it isn't a usual sword though. It is a demon sword which has two unusual traits; it has magical properties and can take human form, its human form, Aria, becomes a close friend of Cecily's. Over the course of the series the three of them have several battles, frequently against other people armed with demon swords. As the series concludes some surprising truths are revealed and dangers confronted which left a somewhat open ending conclusion. I've tried to keep the plot description as basic as possible so as not to spoil it for anybody who has yet to see it.
At first I wasn't sure what to make of this series which is populated fairly cute characters which made me think it was probably aimed at a young audience. However the story seemed fun and the characters were likable so I stuck with it. I'm not sure why it has a TV-MA rating on Funimation's YouTube channel as there in nothing in it that would be unsuitable to teenagers; there is some violence but nothing too gory and sexual content is limited to a few comments about the comparatively large size of Cecily's breasts, there is a small amount of nudity but I don't recall seeing anything inappropriate for the younger viewer. The ending did seem a little too open ended, I hope that was just to leave things open for a second series.
These comments are based on watching the series in Japanese with English subtitles.

The story and world building of this show is top notch. The characters are interesting and the action is more along the lines of Black Clover.
Ultimately the unnecessary nudity gives this show a MA rating which limits its viewership and mostly like what doomed it to its single season. Many shows will have a similar amount of nudity but with items strategically covering the private areas, specifically the female nipples which allows them to remain TV-14. The nudity in this show is mostly non-sexual in nature and done for gags, and is very frequent. It mostly lasts for a second, except one episode where several women go to the the public bath together.
The cursing is infrequent and is more on the mild side (bastard, ass, bitch).
The violence is mostly tame with limbs sometimes being severed but will show some blood bursting out of the wound but not excessively.
Seriously for the MA rating the show got, you'd think it was much more dark or sexual in nature, but that's simply not the case. A good watch except for the exposed nipples which feels unnecessarily forced.

The Sacred Blacksmith doesn't do anything too special, but there were a few times I found myself fairly interested in certain characters. I thought that by the end Luke and Lisa were interesting, and would've liked to see more of them in a season 2. The arc with the princess and her three companions was done especially well and was the highlight of the show for me. The biggest cons for me were Cecily and the main plot. I did not find Cecily to be a very interesting or relatable protagonist, and sometimes could be a bit annoying. She lacked any sense of individuality or ambition, so she ultimately came off as just a generic anime lead. The main plot revolving around these "demon swords" is interesting as a premise, but unfortunately is not explored to a satisfactory degree. The villain is very underdeveloped and their motivations are vague as well as their capabilities. Overall I wouldn't really recommend this show, there are much better alternatives in the fantasy subgenre like Snow White with the Red Hair.
Here is another fantasy anime series I found awesome! As an avid anime enthusiast, I am constantly immersing myself in the world of captivating animated series and movies, eagerly seeking out fresh releases to indulge in and appreciate.
The series' story is about a young rookie knight named Cecily Cambell, who had her family's sword broken while trying to protect villagers from a seemingly insane veteran swordsman. Fortunately, Luke, a cold-hearted blacksmith, saves her. Later, Cecily comes to Luke's cottage to ask him to reforged her sword, but his answer was "no!" Demons suddenly possess bandits who attack merchants, and the knights call upon Cecily to protect them. But her attempt to fight the bandits ended in failure. Of course, Luke and his helper Lisa arrive on the scene and magically forge a blade to stop the remaining demon bandit. After the disaster is over, Cecily and Luke agree about forging a new sword for her. But now, Cecily has an important task: to protect a sword that can take on a human shape called Aria.
I love little Lisa; I thought she's adorable. So, as I said, this is an awesome fantasy series with superb animation, not to mention an adorable-sounding ending theme song. Overall, I really love this show.
