- An obnoxious twin brother and sister inherit their late mother's business only to discover she was a Community Support Officer to a town full of supernatural creatures. A jet-black comedy about family, freaks and finding where you truly belong.—Author
- After their estranged mother Iris dies, spoilt thirty-something siblings HAROLD and MEREDITH inherit her housing association business, hidden away in the Post-Industrial Northern wasteland that is Gravesby. The two just about manage to put aside their carefully curated mutual hatred long enough to make the trip from London in the hope of a quick inheritance and last laugh at mummy's expense. Once they arrive, however, they discover that the dearly departed actually ran the ICS; a community support service for paranormal "Inexplicables" living secretly amongst the mortal "normies" of the region HAROLD is convinced the entire operation is a sham albeit one he can use to his advantage whilst MEREDITH sees it as little more than a distraction from her self-destructive spiralling but as the two begin to work with their new eclectic collection of colleagues and clients they soon begin to grow in radically different ways. MEREDITH finds that Gravesby brings out the best in her whether she wants it or not and it turns out she has a knack for providing the support she always needed herself whilst HAROLD's desire for personal power propels him down a far darker path that endangers all of those around him 'Inexplicables' is an examination of modern community, identity and inclusivity. It follows a diverse cast of characters as they explore what it means to be human in a genuinely unique premise that is equal parts bleak and heart-warming. Furthermore, it takes place in a rich, detailed and strange story world that offers huge potential for further expansion without sacrificing the intimacy that comes from a small ensemble cast. And lastly, it's got sympathetic monsters. Everybody loves sympathetic monsters!
