A poetic short film due to its theme of 'identity'. Monica Vanesa Tedja brought painful truth over religion and local myth ideas, wrapped in great visual images. Jourdy's subtle performance (with/without Jerome) defined bridging gap between dreams and reality.
Kudos to Monica Vanesa Tedja, the director, because in just 19 minutes she was able to stir our feelings magnanimously.
With the boundary between dream and reality fusing, Monica invites us to enter emotional turbulence that is sometimes comforting but other times unsettling.
Dear to Me, of course, was successful thanks to Jourdy Pranata's refined acting, who was able to manifest every level of emotion the story needed in such gusto.
