Follows Chuck, a hopelessly estranged father who desperately wants to reconnect with his troubled son, Franklin. Blocked on social media and concerned for his son's life, Chuck impersonates a waitress online and starts checking in with Franklin. But things begin to spiral when Franklin falls for this imaginary girl and wants nothing more than to meet her in person, as Chuck has inadvertently catfished his own son.

The logline for the film includes the phrase "Inspired by a true story. Like, this literally happened to me." Written by, directed by and starring James Morosini, it's based on something that actually happened between the filmmaker and his father.

Goofs
During one of the first scenes on Franklin & Chuck's trip from Massachusetts to Maine, the license plate on Chuck's car switches from Maine (where his character lives) to New York (where the film was shot), and then back again for the remainder of the film.

Not really a comedy...

It might have started out as a comedy, and the trailer makes it seem as such, but in my opinion it's pretty dark. Isn't dark comedy a movie genre?

Perhaps there should be a warning about suicidal themes (not a spoiler)... Despite some pretty funny moments and some characters that brought a little light back to the film, I was filled with dread and anxiety the whole time. My heart broke several times.

Considering it's based on a true story, props to James Morosini for creating this very emotional film. And seemingly forgiving his dad? All of the actors were phenomenal as well. Can't think of anything else to say in order to hit the min character limit!
