Lord of Wolves, the latest film from British writer/director Charlie Steeds, marks the third time he’s taken on the subject of lycanthropy. Unlike A Werewolf in England and Werewolf Castle, Lord of Wolves creates a new version of the werewolf mythos. Trying to redefine a traditional creature can be a risky task, especially to the extent that Steed does it here, but what he has in mind for them is quite interesting.

Nic Cross is a photographer living in London. On his way home one evening, he sees a strange man in the subway holding an object shaped like a pyramid. When his roommate and mentor Professor Malone suddenly dies, he comes into possession of one like it.

Earlier this year, The Horror Collective announced that they’ll be bringing us a Christmas-set (and 80s-set) slasher called He Sees You When You’re Sleeping this holiday season – and now we know exactly when we’ll have the chance to watch the movie! He Sees You When You’re Sleeping will be receiving a digital and VOD release on November 1st, and with that date right around the corner, a trailer for the film has dropped online. Back in 1986, Caroline Williams played one of my all-time favorite horror final girls, “Stretch” in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2. She has followed that with several more horror movie appearances, taking roles in the likes of Leprechaun 3, Blind, and the recent Nicolas Cage Dracula movie Renfield, among many others. The Friday Fright Night feature we have for you this week is called An English Haunting – which doesn’t leave much question as to what sort of movie this might be. Of course it’s a haunted house movie. And this isn’t always a horror sub-genre that I get much enjoyment out of, because shots of creaky doors swinging open by themselves don’t do anything for me.

Tom and his cameraman Mike are The Ghost Crew, a paranormal investigation team try, without much success, to get some footage for their next show. In the middle of this, they encounter Sandy wandering around in a daze. She can remember being at a hospital in the woods and walking until she encountered Tom and Mike but not why she was there or how she got there.

Like most ghost hunters in films like this, they’re one step away from being cancelled and Arnold, their producer, is demanding better footage or else. Desperate to save their show they latch on to Sandy’s case.
