The plot is pathetically bad and yet somehow the dialogue is even worse. There is no point to this movie other than to say, hey look we're in Youngstown, Ohio. If you look at the crew list, you'll see the director is the same person who shot the movie. He clearly spent all of his time on his cinematography and zero time on actual direction. Just a complete waste of time and stinker of a movie.

I watched this with the love of my life who happens to be a native of Youngstown and we both agree that the movie was a-mazing. The cinematic masterpiece captured the area in a way which only people who live here can appreciate. From Jimmy's Italian Specialties to the high voltage power lines, the movie practically exudes the Mahoning Valley.
The fair scenes could have used DiRusso's Sausage and a visit to one of the many lemon shake stands.
PS - Howland is not Youngstown and nobody from Trumbull county would dare to call Youngstown "home".
PSS - how the heck did 2 random people walk into a school?!

The movie Youngstown captured the blue collar values of the once Steel Capital.
The camera had a profound eye lingering briefly on places and items that make Youngstown a special city and the humor also helped capture the Youngstown story. The acting was great.
Loved it.

I found this movie particularly charming. It's light and funny and different. Both leads are very engaging and I was only disappointed in the short runtime. I could have spent more time in this world.

No script, no budget ... and yet here is a darling movie that never makes you feel bad. If you can't commit a mere 80 minutes to watch this flick and enjoy the quirkiness of the plot, value the humble beauty of a small town, credit the hilarity of the literally ad-libbed dialogue and come away happier than when you started, then you live a sad, demanding life. Smile more and enjoy ...

The two lead actors deserve all the recognition possible. Amazing performances. Magnetic. When I left the theater I was already imagining them in a wished for sequel. Great texture to the camera angles and cinematography. A warm, quirky, delightful film that I want to watch again.
