Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz arrived at St. James's Palace in London on 8 September 1761. She was received by the King and his family at the garden gate. Within six hours of her arrival, Charlotte was united in marriage with King George III. The ceremony was performed at the Chapel Royal, St. James's Palace, by the Archbishop of Canterbury. Only the royal family, the party who had traveled from Germany, and a handful of guests were present.

A young Violet Ledger Bridgerton is seen as a teenager during the early days of the marriage between Queen Charlotte and King George III. However she would have been born about 5 years after they got married and would have been a teenager almost 20 years after their marriage.

Fleshes out Bridgerton

I truly enjoy Bridgerton. Every season contains the ups and downs of courtship, and makes you cheer on the romance. Queen Charlotte, however, goes one better! It adds layers to the writing by giving the viewer a secondary perspective to something you've already watched. I found myself going from thinking I might give up on it, and then loving it more than the original series. It creates a backstory for three of the original matriarchs and allows you to see their past and what makes them who they are in later adulthood. I was fully emotionally invested and loved the last two episodes. Absolutely great writing!!
