Fox announced in July 2024 that the animated sequel series Bedrock was no longer in development at the network, though Fox said it was open to redeveloping the project at a later date. The new take on the classic cartoon would have caught up with the "modern Stone Age family" twenty years later, with Fred on the brink of retirement and twentysomething Pebbles embarking on her own career. Elizabeth Banks was set to voice Pebbles and also serve as an executive producer.
