The film is dedicated to Justin Fashanu, the first openly gay professional football player in British history. He was also the first black UK football player to command £1,000,000 for the sale of his contract from one club to another. Fashanu committed suicide in May 1998.
The entire film takes place on, or right next to, one football pitch (soccer field).
