Aided by powerful guardians, a Buddhist monk journeys across lands to retrieve sacred texts, confronting supernatural foes who obstruct their quest for enlightenment.

Sun Wukong the Monkey King, monk Tang Sanzang, humanoid pig Zhu Bajie and river demon Sha Wujing embark on a perilous journey to retrieve holy scriptures from the west, as an act of redemption for their past sins. On the way, they encounter a host of spirits, monsters and demons who threaten their lives and their unity.—Chris
