The Dropout is a heart-felt comic musical. It is refreshing to see a well-written film in this style. The musical seams to be a lost art, but Clayton Chaney has done an excellent job using the genera in a fun, way without being silly. Jason Harris did a great job with the music as well, reinforcing the story effectively. This film is intelligent and has some great moments of dry humor, as well as a sensitive look at relationships and what people really need. The actors are very accessible and quickly bring the audience into their world. I recommend this short film to anyone, young or old as well as families. This is a fantastic romantic comedy.
