The blender was made exclusively for the film. A bottomless acrylic jar was used to shoot scenes under it and the engine was quiet so other sounds could be recorded even when it was running.
Aramis Trindade was the first actor who came to director André Klotzel's mind when he read the script and saw the character Fuinha, which means Weasel. Klotzel showed the script and the character to Trindade, who replied "I'm really the right one to do it".
