When was Bruce Willis at the peak of his popularity? It’s hard to say because, truth be told, the man has been a superstar for almost as long as I’ve been alive. When I was in Kindergarten, he was rockin’ the airwaves on Moonlighting and cutting an album, peddling Seagram’s Wine Coolers and starring in hit movies like Blind Date, and this was Before Die Hard. Yet, that 1988 movie took him to another level, with Die Hard 2 and The Last Boy Scout solidifying him as a major, major action star. Yet, one movie almost always overlooked in his filmography is a thriller he did for Sony Pictures that was sandwiched between two against-type turns, one being in Death Becomes Her, the other being in Pulp Fiction. The movie is Striking Distance, and it’s the subject of this month’s The Best Movie You Never Saw!

Dubai Film Market is introducing a selection of Indian projects for the first time this year through a partnership with Europe’s Pjlf Three Rivers Residency.

When you’re on a role you’re on a role! Once again here is a list of ten actors who achieved cult movie villainy on the strength of one movie. Some of the actors faded into obscurity while others continued their careers without scaling the heights of their defining cinematic performance. Perhaps I should do a one for heroes! Nah! Villains are much more fun!

The pilot for A&E's "Occult" has just expanded by two as both Daniel Henney and Brennan Brown have signed on to co-star in the project, which already boasts a pretty impressive cast with Josh Lucas, Lynn Collins, and Agnes Bruckner.
The potential new series is written by James Wong ("The X-Files," "Millennium," "American Horror Story"), who will executive produce with Michael Bay and his partners at Platinum Dunes, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller, producing.
"Occult" revolves around Dolan, an FBI agent (Lucas) who has returned from administrative leave after going off the deep end while investigating his wife’s disappearance. Eager to be back on the job, he is paired with an agent with her own complicated back story who specializes in the occult (Collins). Together, they will solve cases for the newly formed occult crimes task force. Bruckner will play Lucy, an attractive, edgy young soul caught up in the occult.

We were so disappointed that Zero Hour wasn’t given more time to gain an audience, but at least were pleased when ABC announced that the entire first season would air this summer, including the first three episodes that aired in the winter.
Happily, ABC has now paired those episodes with unaired episodes from another gone-too-soon show from earlier this season, 666 Park Avenue, according to Deadline. As you know from the SciFiMafia.com Spring and Summer Primetime TV Schedule and the SciFiMafia.com Calendar, Zero Hour premieres Saturday, June 15 at 8/7c. 666 Park Avenue will join Zero Hour on June 22, following it at 9/8c and continuing weekly for three more weeks.

"666 Park Avenue" was one of the biggest disappointments of the last TV season - both for viewers story-wise and for ABC ratings-wise. But fans of the show will finally have some closure when the network begins airing the remaining four episodes on Saturday, June 22nd.
Per TVLine the ill-fated spooker, which ABC pulled from the schedule following its December 2, 2012 broadcast, will reward loyal viewers with a finale on July 13. Speaking with the site recently, series star Rachael Taylor gave the final episode two very enthusiastic thumbs up, saying, “I love the ending. Everything gets completely flipped on its head, and it was very fun for me to play. My character is very different in the last episode. I’m really looking forward to people seeing the end, because shit gets crazy.”
Synopsis:
At the ominous address of 666 Park Avenue, anything you desire can be yours. Everyone has needs, desires, and ambition.

Joking with reporters is always a risky venture. At Fox’s Tuesdays press junket, the network’s entertainment chairman Kevin Reilly was huddled with a gaggle of writers after his executive session and candidly referenced “stumbling out of the gate” with the ill-fated fall drama The Mob Doctor. He then quipped, “which, by the way, was the worst title in the history of the world.”
Sure enough, that quote popped up in online reports yesterday. And make no mistake — The Mob Doctor was a stinker title (though after the upfronts last year, we actually thought CBS’ upcoming drama Golden Boy...

Despite the show's recent cancellation, fans of "666 Park Avenue" should still receive some closure when the series ends its run on ABC as executive producers David Wilcox and Matt Miller promise they are "building to a powerful and surprising series finale."
Wilcox and Miller told TVLine they were given enough time to turn their swan song into a series finale, adding, "We hope fans of the show continue watching all the way to the end of Jane and Henry’s incredible journey to the dark side... where all your questions will be answered.”
As luck would have it, DVR data released last week showed the ratings for the thriller’s November 4 episode spiking a staggering 77 percent — raising hopes that ABC might un-ring the cancellation bell. The news prompted leading man Dave Annable to vent on Twitter that ABC “f—ed up” by axing the series. But it’s a decision...

Despite its People's Choice Awards 2013 nomination for "Favorite New TV Drama" and ABC recently ordering a few more scripts for the series, the network officially gave "666 Park Avenue" the axe today.
Per Deadline, the plan seems to be for the series’ original 13-episode order to play out the way things did last season for "Pan Am" with ABC not shutting the door on the show completely, technically keeping it in consideration for next season, although we have to think such a scenario is highly unlikely given the low ratings "666" has received.
In the meantime we'll keep our eyes on the situation and let you know if anything changes.

We've been sporadic at best with our coverage of ABC's "666 Park Avenue," mainly because we didn't think it'd last long given its low ratings. In any event, here's a look at the show's upcoming guest star Whoopi Goldberg in character from Episode 1.09, "Hypnos."
"666 Park Avenue" - Episode 1.09 - "Hypnos" (12/2/12 airdate):
