Oh, what can I say? As an Iranian myself, I can say this is one of the best Iranian movies I've ever seen. One of those which keep you thinking for a long time after watching them. Many people believe it is similar to another Iranian movie "Nafas-e Amigh" (Parviz Shahbazi, 2003). Well, I haven't watched that one yet, so I can say my review is totally based on what "this" movie is about, without comparing it to any other one.
In his first feature film, the director "Behnam Behzadi" shows a promising new voice in the cinema of Iran. The non-linear story of the film, along with the good performance of its two main characters, keeps you enjoying the movie till the end. The strange role of Siamak, played by "Alireza Aghakhani", his silence, the way he looks, and the strange relationship that forms between him and Shahrzad is charming. And I believe "Negar Javaherian" gives her best performance in this movie.
The snow sequence, which is repeatedly seen during the film, accompanied by the beautiful music of "Hossein Alizadeh" and good hand-held cinematography of "Bayram Fazli", illustrates Siamak's lonely and disconsolate life very well.
To make the long story short, "Tanha Do Bar Zendegi Mikonim" is the story of our boring life, which can be changed by love. And I think that's what the movie is trying to say in the end. True love will give you the hope to go on and fight, in spite of all the misery you may have in your life.
