The Russian ground attack fighter featured is the Ilyushin Il-2, the single most produced military aircraft design in aviation history.
There's a very nice assortment of authentic WW2 Soviet aircraft in the final scene. Aside from the Il-2m Sturmovik, there are several Yak fighters, which went back into production a few years ago for warbird enthusiasts with deep pockets, a couple of I-15 biplanes (still in operation as late as 1943) and as a true anomaly, a North American T-6 trainer in US Navy colors (the one with the blue nose in the background). Most, if not all, of the aerial sequences were high quality CGI.
