Ludovica Francesconi acting is quite good, her character really shines - but the rest of the cast has turned into cardboard cutouts.
This is too bad: in the first movie they were well rounded and intriguing.
The side story with the influencer feels like it has been copied from a Vanzina movie; it's cringeworthy and feels fake.
The same goes for the "cybersecurity expert" facing workplace harassment (with a small role by Loredana Berte'! She did a decent job, but her role could have been filled by any actress).
Overall, I'm not looking forward the third installment of the series.

This is the second film in the Italian Out of My League trilogy and it joins our dynamic and colorful trio Marta, Frederica and Jacopo after Marta has broken up with Arturo. (Yes, that is what she says...she broke up with him.) Marta has found a new love interest...an artist named Gabriele. Gabriele is a little more in Marta's league and knows all about her illness.
Things seem perfect between Gabriele and Marta but then he makes a big mistake out of jealousy.
This is not a standalone film and ends with a cliffhanger. This is light and quirky but still romantic while potentially dealing with Marta's life threatening illness cystic fibrosis.
Strangely addictive romance mainly because the character of Marty is just so charming. Decent acting with this ridiculous premise.
Recommend if you are learning Italian...or just like to listen to it, are a fan of quirky characters like Amelie, or are just a sucker for a romance.

If you've seen the first one, you know the characters ... and maybe you fell in love with them. It does try to be inclusive ... although it also tried to blur lines. And with this second movie it kind of does away with any message we were given with the first movie. Which is a shame. It does try to give us something new and it somewhat succeeds ... but the central message from the first one is gone.
There is constructed drama and things that should not be an issue at all .. but they sort of do work, in the sense of they hold the movie together. Actually the central story is not the one saving this, but a side story ... that actually deserves the out of my league tag ... without this plot the movie would have felt even weaker.
Colorful characters aside, cliches en masse ... and predictability ensues ... well you can have fun with this, if you suspend your disbelief.

👏 amazing, just so good I can't explain, so so worth it, it shld be a classic, wonderful. Very cliche maybe at times, but still is nice to relax to after a long hard day of work and what not. Lead actress was great but the storyline was just lacking in depth and creativity in general.
