When the first German raid occurs, there is a brief close up of bombers in formation shown. They are clearly late war four engined British Handley Page Halifax heavy bombers with H2S terrain mapping radar fitted, which wasn't widely used until 1943-1944. They are not 1940 German twin engined light bombers.
