The Japanese title "Higashi no Eden" (Eden of the East) is a reversal of "Eden no Higashi" (East of Eden) a novel by John Steinbeck.
Writer director Kenji Kamiyama was originally going to produce a second season but instead decided to make two feature length movies to follow up.
