Jacqueline Wilson (original author) has inspired millions of children, as well as the original Tracy Beaker idea having been inspired by real children, in the foster care system.
She has attended countless book signing events, as well as given a talk for the UK's charitable international adoption organisation CACH-All.
The character of "Football" pays homage to Tracy Beaker's childhood best-friend (Sean) who was never mentioned in the previous television adoptions of the story. Football however, was heavily featured in the book sequel, The Dare Game (also know as I Dare You)
