This film is based on the song "Jeanny Part 1" by Falco from 1985. The song is used in the score as well. Manuel Rubey played Falco in the biopic Falco - Verdammt, wir leben noch! (2008). His character Johannes Bachmann shares a similar name to Falco, whose real name was Johann Hölzel.
Besides the song "Jeanny Part 1" by Falco the movie features various Falco-references:
- One of the song at Luzia's party is "Vienna Calling" by Falco.
- When Jeanny and Johannes are driving on their date to the ruin the score is based on a sample from Falco's song "Coming Home", also known as "Jeanny Part 2"
- Johannes tells Jeanny that his parents died during a car crash. In real life Falco died in 1998 in Puerto Platta, when a bus crashed into his car on the street.
- When Jeanny arrives at Johannes' apartment he is listening to "Dies Bildnis ist bezaubernd schön" from the opera "The Magic Flute" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Falco sang a song about him, called "Rock Me Amadeus", which became his biggest hit.
- One of the costumes in the cellar of Johannes' forest house is a ballerina dress. A similar dress is worn by Jeanny in the original music video for "Jeanny Part 1" in the final scene, which shows Falco in the madhouse being teased by Jeanny.
- A song at the graduation party is "Nie mehr Schule" by Falco.
The scene in which Johannes is carrying Jeanny on his arms while the police arrives and the dogs are searching for him is a recreation of a scene from the music video Falco: Jeanny (1985), in which Falco is singing "Jetzt hör ich sie, sie kommen. Sie kommen um dich zu holen, sie werden dich nicht finden..." (Now I can hear them, they are coming. They are coming to get you. They won't find you.).
The movie premiered on Austrian television on the 30th January 2022, the 65th anniversary of Falco's birthday,
