The famous and faded soap opera actor, Fabián Delmar, turns down a humiliating proposal on the cruise ship where he works as a crooner and decides to go back to Mexico to resume his career after a 25 year gap, but nothing seems to be the same anymore; neither the industry, the people, nor Fabián himself.

Fabián is willing to do whatever it takes to make it back to the small screen and have a close relationship with Cristal, but the chances are slim, when the only real proposal he has is to star a commercial of a rather peculiar medication.

While dealing with his creditors' claims, Fabián gets a new gig as presenter at a political act for a misogynist and ultra conservative candidate. The political event turns into chaos when a feminist and LGBT activist demonstration, headed by Cristal and her friends, crashes the place, to Fabián's detriment, who gets caught up in the middle of the fight.

Fabián goes to talk to Yadira, Cristal's grandmother, to reach a more sustainable arrangement to present himself as his father. Later on, we learn that Fabián can't seem to shake off a recurring nightmare, memories of an accident that haunts him, but when he meets his neighbor, a cute psychologist, he starts finding the answers to understand the reason of his angs.

Fabián, who finds in the gift of a brand-new guitar an excuse to approach his daughter in a roundabout way, is intercepted by his old group of fans who can't believe he's back in Mexico. Later, Fabián tries to make peace with Charly who gets him a sui generis gig concerning "a disposable love".

Evicted from his apartment due to his debts, Fabián tries adapting to living with his mother and is invited to a soap opera related event at the local Film Auditorium, to which his archenemy Juan ÁngelApolowas also invited. Cristal, who after watching the video he'd sent her along with the guitar, has found out where the actor is going to be, will also show up to confront him.

Fabián, who keeps having his recurring nightmares, realizes he remembers, while in session with Sofía, that Melina was with him the night of his fateful accident. Cristal overhears her grandmother reproaching Fabián for his attempts to get closer to her, she is furious and decides to go live with her father. Thanks to his manager, Fabián manages to get inside the event that Melina will be attending to finally learn the truth.

Fabián gives a Soap Opera Acting master class. Fabián and Sofía attend the unsuccessful fashion show by "Leclerc Underwear" where he gets a feverish confession out of Melina. After the show of the The Hegemonic at the Mictlán, an incident takes place between Fabián and Sofía that could hinder the development of this love story.

Melina has a nightmare about the accident and sends to find out about the woman that was escorting Fabián who, in turn, is desperately wanting to talk to Sofía. Yadira confronts him and threatens to accuse him of kidnapping her granddaughter. Depressed, Fabián hides away at The Mictlán, where he comes up with a plan to win Sofía back.

Fabián is arrested and charged with kidnapping. The media make a killing with the news. Defense attorney Pacheco arranges for Charly, Rocío and Fabián to be released. Once freed, Fabián appears on the TV show The Final Judgement where he gives his version of the accounts. The presence of an unexpected guest shocks everyone.

Charly gives Fabián the news that Olimpo-TV wants him for a series. They sign the pre contract and Fabián recovers his apartment. Charly gets engaged to his lifetime sweetheart, Piedad. Fabián, desperate because of Sofía'ssilent treatment, decides to do something about it acting like a true lover.

A video where Fabián is introduced as the last dinosaur standing becomes an internet sensation. Fabián, right in the middle of Charly and Piedad wedding, has to leave to sign the agreement with Melina, who has an unforgettable surprise in store for him. One month later, Fabián makes a triumphant comeback to Olimpo-TV and is blown away by the new story that features him as the lead character.
