L'île rouge, pas à pas

"The Red Island, step by step", is the odyssey of two fearless young women, who decided to walk for 1,500 km on the territory of Madagascar, by all types of paths, whatever the climatic conditions of the moment. Wearing a backpack of almost 20 kilos, they sweat, puff and pant, sigh, sleep in tents and... go back on the road the morning after, whatever the cost. They will indeed arrive at the end of their journey after four months, proud of their feat ... which is not only a feat. For Lydie and Cécile are two committed young persons, their objective is also to make known people worthy of interest who are never talked about, either simple villagers (invariably astonished by the two girls' sudden appearance but always benevolent) or the authors of positive initiatives in favor of the country, one of the poorest in the world, from Jean-Marc who has revived a weaving workshop to a lady baker, a third of whose production goes to the needy,to a teacher, an agricultural engineer or a researcher specializing in... sea cucumber. The film is a little approximately made, but that only adds to the charm of this adventure which has nothing to do with comfort, whether physical or aesthetic. A beautiful experience that Lydie Bertrand and Cécile Cocheret allow us to share as they have shared their generosity and kindness with the people of Madagascar.
