I wanted to recreate the moment when the human spirit recovers after a deep tragedy and rediscovers a new faith about life. For me this moment came at the end of the film when Toto was recovering from the loss of Mark and realized that the power of love had carved a place in his heart that would allow him to endure. Also I was very interested in create characters with a symbolic meaning, very basic but close representations of the different stages of the society, or at least the society that surround the gay individuals.
Of course, the whole story need to be tell with more depth and time, but we reserve the full development of the plot for the feature script. Here we concentrate on feelings and emotion. For that reasson I wanted to develop a plot that displayed a wide range of emotions in a short period of time. I wanted to experiment with a character that moves from one extreme to another. For example, Toto moves from one extreme where his desire to evade his present life and ends up in an adventure where he is in direct contact with risk, love, passion and sexual attraction. In the end, it is the death of a loved one that provides Toto with a new hope to start on his new path of life Toto Forever is a story that involves love AND suspense. The challenge was to find the right balance between the two. It was an honor to have had the opportunity to work with actors that allowed me to research and develop my ideas. The concentration and commitment of the main actors was impressive. Kylan James had an impressive desire to succeed and his attention to detail is impeccable. Kjord Davis is one of the most talented and well train actors that I have met. Both of these actors are perfect in their roles. The characters they created were great and memorable. I feel lucky to have met these two actors and really appreciated working with them.
