Rrarely do I leave a review, but Blue left me speechless. If you have recently lost someone, I do and do not recommend the movie for you as it both creates an unfillable longing for the unachievable and creates a hope...a hope that will unfortunately stay unfullfilled, but yet a feeling of recovery....contradictionary? YES! Do I wish that I did watch Star Wars instead? YES! Can I forget this experience? NO! This flick is a masterful example of emotional storytelling that will haunt you for the rest of the week (at least), while provoking an unheard-of response from deep within your soul. Really hard to define, but one thing is for damn sure, unless you are made of good ole' american mined steel, you'll lose a tear or more.
Blue is a movie that explores Laura's journey after losing a child. She represents what women may experience after a child's death. Blue is both poignant and hopeful. The videography is gorgeous and captures the moods of each character and their actions. The plot is entirely relatable. The ancillary characters add to the depth of the message. Blue's imagery is both vivid and blurred at times, thus enhancing the viewing experience. There is a fae quality to some of the scenes. This movie is thought provoking and leaves the viewer wondering what they would do in this couple's situation. Will be watching it again.
