Apparently, the movie will "have a significantly smaller budget" than the previous Disney-era films, and is described as "a more contained" story. Gosling's unnamed lead is also said to be accompanied by a younger character who is a Jedi Padawan.

This had led to speculation that the movie could be set in an era when the Jedi were still active (likely before the events of A New Hope), but Lucasfilm's Kathleen Kennedy has since confirmed that it will actually be a post-The Rise of Skywalker story.

Ryan Gosling is to become the newest addition to the Star Wars universe after news emerged that he will star in an as-yet-untitled franchise movie to be directed by Shawn Levy.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Gosling is to join a project that was first revealed in 2022, as one of several films that Star Wars producer Lucasfilm is developing simultaneously. Levy, whose previous film was the record-breaking Deadpool & Wolverine, said that Jonathan Tropper, with whom he worked on This Is Where I Leave You and The Adam Project, is writing the screenplay.

Exclusive: In a year in which the prolific Shawn Levy director turned out the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine, and the lauded limited series All The Light We Cannot See, he has been tapped to receive the Director of the Year Award at the upcoming CinemaCon in Las Vegas.

CinemaCon Managing Director Mitch Neuhauser confirmed that Levy will be honored at the NATO convention on Aprill 11, as part of the Big Screen Achievement Awards ceremony at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

“Throughout his impressive career, Shawn Levy never fails to give audiences what they want – the most entertaining, enjoyable and crowd-pleasing films imaginable,” noted Neuhauser. “As one of our most talented and leading filmmakers working today, we can’t wait to see what he brings to our theaters this summer with the eagerly anticipated Deadpool & Wolverine. It’s our honor to single Shawn out as our CinemaCon Director of the Year.

Ferrari, the biographical drama starring Adam Driver as Enzo Ferrari, has received a Fresh 72% score on Rotten Tomatoes. This score is significantly higher than Driver's previous film, 65, which earned a low 34% score. Ferrari marks Driver's first movie since 65 and has brought his year back on track.

Ferrari has set Adam Driver's 2023 back on the right track. His only other movie released this year has been the science fiction actioner 65, in which he stars as a space pilot who crash lands on Earth 65 million years in the past and must fight to save himself and a young survivor from rampaging dinosaurs. 65 was a critical and commercial flop, and the Michael Mann biographical drama Ferrari, in which Driver stars as Enzo Ferrari, marks the actor's first movie since then.

Rotten Tomatoes has aggregated an official critic score for the Ferrari biopic. With 94 reviews from various critics, the movie has earned a solidly Fresh 72% score.

The Emmy-winning Mad Men grad, who previously “begged” Apple for a show of his own in a tongue-in-cheek ad for the streamer, will star in and exec produce the straight-to-series Apple drama Your Friends and Neighbors. The role marks Hamm’s first starring role in an ongoing drama series since AMC’s Mad Men wrapped its seven-season run in 2015.

Your Friends and Neighbors, based on an original idea by Jonathan Tropper (See, Warrior, Banshee), revolves around Coop (Hamm), a recently divorced hedge fund manager who, after being fired, resorts to stealing from the wealthy residents in his tony upstate New York suburb in order to keep his family’s lifestyle afloat. The petty crimes begin to reinvigorate him until he breaks into the wrong house at the wrong time.

Tropper will serve as showrunner and exec produce via his overall deal with Apple.

After directing three “Night at the Museum” movies, Shawn Levy didn’t want to be confined to directing family comedies for the rest of his career. If you’re doing something successfully, he told IndieWire, it’s easy to be “pigeonholed” by Hollywood into that one thing.

But he’s been far from limited under the banner of his own production company, 21 Laps. Levy and his company have been prolific hit-makers since it launched in 2006, and he has produced and directed everything from indie darlings (“The Spectacular Now”), ambitious Best Picture nominees (“Arrival”), studio blockbuster satires (“Free Guy“), prestige limited series (“All the Light We Cannot See”), Stephen King horror movies (“The Boogeyman”), and the biggest Netflix show ever (“Stranger Things”), all of which depart from the family-friendly event movies on which he cut his teeth.

The dynamic brings up a lot of unhealed wounds and anger that the siblings have toward each other, especially with the siblings' current family and marriage situations.

Judd Altman (Bateman) learns at the start of the film that his wife, Quinn Altman (Abigail Spencer), has been cheating on him with his Boss, Wade Beaufort, for a year. At home with his family, he has to cope with his wife's cheating and his marriage falling apart while also putting up with his siblings.
