A very unusual movie and tricky to review. The script reads like it should fit in the "torture porn" genre -- a strangely popular film theme in 2024 -- but no, it doesn't. On diggimg deeper, we realize that is because the script was written by one of the three female leads. Which is also unusual. It is clearly a low-budget indie, yet it runs for almost two hours, a length usually reserved for Hollywood blockbusters. Unusual. For most of its run-length, it can't seem to decide if it wants to be a police procedural, or a character study of women in jeopardy. Because of this indecision, it ultimately fails at both. Yet the production values are excellent and it does hold the attention. ((Designated "IMDb Top Reviewer." As a fan of low budget indie films, I enjoyed the amount of tension and discomfort delivered by both the story and the visual choices made in this film. Philly suburbanites will get an extra thrill recognizing some local spots. Lots of twists and turns to keep the story moving right up to the end. Found myself wondering what I would do if I was in that situation, which added to the emotional impact of the film. After watching it once, I need to go back and look for clues I missed.
Note: This movie does contain adult themes and scenes that aren't for everyone, so make sure to check it out beforehand and give folks who may be sensitive to the content time to opt out of watching it.

What a suspenseful treat. Any negative can pretty much be attributed to the budget they had to work with. There were lots of surprises that kept you wary as a viewer right up to the very end.... Just great movie making here. The director had very creative angles, making you feel like you were right there with them feeling the anxiety. Plus it wasn't needlessly filthy like so many producers seem to aim for....shock value which is such a cheap way of getting someone's viewing attention. None of that here. The guy playing the villain was also the director so double talent there. When watching really try not to interrupt your viewing as it will dilute the plot intensity.
I got to see this film at the Phoenixville Film Festival in September and it has stayed with me. I am a filmmaker so I am very aware of what it took, on a limited budget, to create this film. Kudos to this team for creating a film that hits all of the viewers emotions. The storyline may seem cliched for some but to me the topic is real and the portrayal of this scenario was done beautifully.
The writing by Aimee was tight and I think important to be written from a woman's point of view. This very easily could have been a darker more visibly disturbing film, which many of this genre are, but Aimee took the viewer close to the edge knowing when to stop and allow the viewer to imagine the worst rather than having to see it. She also gave a very strong acting role to the film as did the entire ensemble.
Danny's direction of the film was tight and he too acted in the film. His presence on screen was creatively orchestrated (I don't want to give away any more than that so as not to spoil the twists and turns at the end).
The filming was done in the Philly area and it was fun seeing places I know. Beautiful camera angles that boosted each scene. Great music.
This is a must see. Bravo to the entire film team for taking a difficult and very real topic to life in a way that stops short of salacious and instead packs a real punch allowing the viewer to use their imagination.

The beauty of this film lies in the way the story is told , and the story itself. Not only is the writing which expresses a unique voice unapologetically, excellent , but so is the directing and acting! More than this , it manages to engage the viewer touching on serious topics without relying on over exploitation or the use of spectacle. The pacing with which it allows the story to unfold before the viewer is set in such a way that it submerges you in the reality of whats going on, with deep regard and respect for who's perspective we are actually seeing things from. I would say more but I do not want to give away the story. Please Watch. Its brilliantly done and so worthy. EXCELLENT!
I really respect movies that do so well with a low budget. It requires a really good story and movies about long-term detention always shake me to my core because it's such a real-life horror (think "Room" or "Girl in the Basement"). The acting was good, the story was great, never slow despite an almost 2 hour runtime. It had me a little too emotional by the end to say I'll probably watch it again but the ending was also very satisfying so I'd definitely recommend.
It really makes you think: you never know what's really going on in your neighbors' basements, even in the most normal of neighborhoods. You want to save people enduring this but you have absolutely no way of knowing where they are. This is a bleak reality.

WOW!!! What a suspenseful , intense , movie. It kept you on your edge of your seat from start to finish . You actually felt for the girls. It just goes to show you ladies always have your head on a swivel, you never know you could very well be caught in this situation. Always be aware. This movie in my eyes actually could bring awareness to many. As I have daughters it made me call & text to actually explain to them please always check out your surroundings. You never know who is watching. My wife and I just left the premiere & it was Very well written and directed. Nicely done to all the actor's & actresses.

I caught this at Noho Cinefest and it is 100% worth the watch. It was great to see in a theater and I can't wait to stream it at home as well. It's one of those films you need a second watch.
As an indie film I was blown away by the talented actors. Each character was so believable I found myself sucked in from the very first scene. I truly cared about each characters relationships and their story. I loved that some back story was included but I found myself really wanting to know even more about them and how their lives landed them there.
Indie filmmakers need our support and this one is easy to support!

This kind of crime most likely is happening all over the world, let alone in the USA. With child trafficking and illegals coming across the border in droves, who's to say that many if not most of the women and kids are headed for this kind of "life" if you call it that, till they are no longer needed, then appear on the shoreline drowned. We have a "regular guy" or so it seems, most of these animals are just "regular guys", who abduct women who do not have a lot of family or none, no real friends who care, or anyone who may even miss that they are not there any more. This is who these predators look for, because they are easily abducted for long periods of time with little worry that anyone will be looking for them. Our regular guy (Keith Bradbury, played by Patrick Hickman) decides to abduct a second girl Danay, (Sophia Lucia Parola) for his basement lair, joining Callie Holloway (Aimee Theresa). What he does is just evil and he does this on a regular basis, There seems to be no hope until the girls get an idea as a third girl, Mary Collum (Jennifer M. Kay) is added to the group. Good action, intense suspense, big twist at the end that you will not see coming. Nothing questionable other than one girl is gay, no nudity, some foul language. An intense watch. Makes you be more careful when you are out and about alone without protection. Enjoy!
