Hans Zimmer is still not interested in joining the MCU.

The two-time Oscar-winning composer has previously said how he’s “retired” from working on superhero films after 2016’s Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice was apparently “very hard” to work on. He’s already worked on The Dark Knight trilogy, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Wonder Woman 1984 and X-Men: Dark Phoenix. However, when it came to teaming up with Marvel, officially, he’s declined.

“Are you yourself kind of superheroed out? I’m kind of surprised the official MCU has never come calling or if they have, you’ve said no?” Josh Horowitz asked Zimmer on Thursday’s Happy Sad Confused podcast episode.

Zimmer responded, “They have, and it was always — timing wasn’t great. And really, quite honestly, I’m looking for other things right now. Look, I’ve done the trifecta. I’ve done Batman, Superman, Spider-Man and Wonder Woman!

It has only been a few weeks since Amazon announced it had acquired full creative control of the James Bond franchise, but the rumor mill has been running nonstop ever since. The internet has been alight with speculation about which actor will take over for Daniel Craig as 007. While Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is fielding suggestions for the next Bond, though, the franchise’s future star is not the only role that needs to be filled for it to officially move forward.

Amazon also has to choose a director to helm its next Bond movie. The franchise’s previous directors include Sam Mendes, Cary Joji Fukunaga, Martin Campbell, Terence Young and Lewis Gilbert. Here are five filmmakers who could potentially join that list, and sooner rather than later.

Nolan once revealed that the idea for Following came after someone broke into his flat. At the time, he was living in a place with a plywood door—something he hadn’t thought much about until the break-in happened.

2025 is in full swing, and with March just around the corner, it’s time for you to look ahead at the movies and series scheduled to depart Netflix throughout the month of March. The biggest notable TV series leaving is The Mindy Project, while hit films like Scooby-Doo and Love Again, among others, are also set to depart.

As always, Netflix’s library is constantly evolving. That means new titles are always on the way, but because Netflix licenses titles from big distributors, they’re not always on Netflix forever. When this license (or rental period) comes to an end, the movie or series leaves Netflix.

While this weekend’s SNL 50: The Anniversary Special has been scheduled for a while now, it wasn’t until very recently that we started to learn exactly which big-name guests would actually be performing.

Last week, NBC announced that the special would feature celebrity laugh riots Steve Martin, John Mulaney and Kim Kardashian. And this week, we finally found out which previous cast members would be returning to Studio 8H on Sunday, via a video in which giant SNL index cards appear to be hung throughout New York City. Hans Zimmer: Live In Prague is already available on Blu-ray, but Eagle Rock has now put a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray physical media release up for pre-order.

In terms of modern filmmaking, it's hard to do better than Christopher Nolan. Even dating back to his early works such as "The Prestige" and "Memento," it was clear that this man was something special. Everyone is going to have their favorites and yes, to an extent, film is a subjective medium. That said, Nolan's broad critical acclaim coupled with his ability to deliver a commercial hit makes him unrivaled in the 2000s. Rather quantifiably, he has proven himself to be the most consistently bankable director working in Hollywood today, and one pretty eye-popping stat proves it.

Nolan had a run from 2008 to 2017 that was, in a word, ridiculous. That run includes the $1 billion beloved blockbuster smash "The Dark Knight," his mind-bending thriller "Inception," DC's one-time highest-grossing movie ever "The Dark Knight Rises," the ambitious modern sci-fi classic "Interstellar," and...

IMDb's Top 250 movies is a tough list for modern films to reach. It contains the best movies with the highest crowd-sourced ratings from any and all genres. Some of these are clear-cut candidates, like Adrien Brody's historical music biopic "The Pianist," which comes in 32nd on the list. Other movies are less sobering and more fantastical. For instance, all three of Peter Jackson's "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy films are in the top 12.

Sci-fi shows up a lot, too. "Interstellar" is ranked 19th. "The Matrix" is 16th. "The Empire Strikes Back" occupies the 15th spot, and "Inception" is the highest-ranked sci-fi of them all at 14th. With so many classics already on the list, it's hard for new releases to make the cut. Christopher Nolan is currently busy perfecting his star cast for his upcoming movie, ‘The Odyssey.’ The feature film is an adaptation of the Greek epic poem written by Homer. The storyline revolves around the Greek King Odysseus and his struggle-filled journey to his home in Ithaca from the Trojan War. On that 10-year journey, Odysseus had to face many hurdles and interruptions from many people (including Gods). The plot also covers how his wife and son deal with aggressive suitors while the King has been away from his kingdom.

Nolan’s feature project already confirmed the lead star cast, including Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Anne Hathaway, Charlize Theron and Jon Bernthal.

Writer/director Christopher Nolan threw us for a loop when it was revealed that his follow-up to the acclaimed award-winning atomic bomb biopic “Oppenheimer” would be a modern adaption of the classic Greek myth epic “The Odyssey” by Homer. The latest group of casting additions, according to Universal, include Himesh Patel (“Tenet,” “Station 11”), Elliot Page (“Inception”), Bill Irwin (“Interstellar”), and Samantha Morton (“The Walking Dead,” “Minority Report”).

The Wrap has learned that Himesh Patel (“Station Eleven”), Elliot Page (“The Umbrella Academy”), Bill Irwin (“Legion”), and Samantha Morton (“Minority Report”) have all joined the cast of Nolan’s forthcoming adaptation of Homer’s epic Ancient Greek poem. As usual, Christopher Nolan is stacking his next project with an all-star cast, and the latest additions include a few Nolan alumni. It’s been announced that Elliot Page, Himesh Patel, Bill Irwin, and Samantha Morton have joined The Odyssey, Nolan’s upcoming adaptation of Homer’s ancient Greek poem.

It's been 12 years since Ryan Coogler made his startlingly assured feature filmmaking debut with "Fruitvale Station," but he still feels like an unknown quantity as an artist. We know from "Creed" and "Black Panther" that he's got a knack for imbuing franchise movies with uncommon heart, and no shortage of swagger when it comes to staging dynamite action set pieces. But due to circumstances beyond his control (the death of Chadwick Boseman and the Covid-19 pandemic), he's only made one movie over the last seven years. That's a lot of time for a still-young filmmaker (he's 38) to sit on the sidelines, especially one whose oeuvre is curiously light on original movies.

That's not a knock on Coogler at all. Christopher Nolan directed a remake ("Insomnia") and three Batman movies en route to becoming the most prominent and praised studio filmmaker on the planet, so Coogler is in excellent company. But...

Did you know Leonardo DiCaprio nearly joined Baywatch? Yep, Hasselhoff’s decision kept him out of the iconic red swimsuit.

While talking to The Hollywood Reporter, Baywatch producers Michael Berk and Douglas Schwartz spilled the tea about what could have been. DiCaprio, then just a 15 y/o rising star, was ready to dive in as the son of Hasselhoff’s Mitch Buchannon. “We actually had DiCaprio ready to be cast,” Berk shared, setting the scene for a beachside drama that almost had Leo in its lifeguard lineup.

But, plot twist! Hasselhoff wasn’t sold on the idea. “David thought he was too old to play his son,” Schwartz explained, adding that Hasselhoff feared the casting would make him look older. Yeah, the Hoff wasn’t ready to be out-shined by a younger Leo. So, they gave the role to Jeremy Jackson, who was six years Leo’s junior.

How about the Hans Zimmer “bwong” sound in a national anthem? It could happen, with reports coming out of Saudi Arabia that the Oscar-winning composer is in talks to create, or re-create, the country’s national anthem.

In a report published in the Saudi newspaper Al Arabiya, the country’s head of General Entertainment Authority, Turki Al al-Sheikh, met with Zimmer and discussed various projects that the composer could potentially work on, including re-creating the national anthem by “using different instruments.”

The current Saudi anthem, called “The Chant of the Saudi Nation,” was written in 1947 by the Egyptian composer Abd al-Rahman al-Khatib at the request of the country’s founding monarch King Abdulaziz.

According to Al Arabiya, Al-Sheikh also discussed with Zimmer the possibility of a new, original composition called “Arabia,” as well as a possible concert. Zimmer is also reportedly in talks to work on the soundtrack for an...

28 Days Later marked the second collaboration for director Danny Boyle and screenwriter Alex Garland after 2000's The Beach.
