Hans Zimmer is still not interested in joining the MCU.
The two-time Oscar-winning composer has previously said how he’s “retired” from working on superhero films after 2016’s Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice was apparently “very hard” to work on. He’s already worked on The Dark Knight trilogy, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Wonder Woman 1984 and X-Men: Dark Phoenix. However, when it came to teaming up with Marvel, officially, he’s declined.
“Are you yourself kind of superheroed out? I’m kind of surprised the official MCU has never come calling or if they have, you’ve said no?” Josh Horowitz asked Zimmer on Thursday’s Happy Sad Confused podcast episode.
Zimmer responded, “They have, and it was always — timing wasn’t great. And really, quite honestly, I’m looking for other things right now. Look, I’ve done the trifecta. I’ve done Batman, Superman, Spider-Man and Wonder Woman!

It has only been a few weeks since Amazon announced it had acquired full creative control of the James Bond franchise, but the rumor mill has been running nonstop ever since. The internet has been alight with speculation about which actor will take over for Daniel Craig as 007. While Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is fielding suggestions for the next Bond, though, the franchise’s future star is not the only role that needs to be filled for it to officially move forward.
Amazon also has to choose a director to helm its next Bond movie. The franchise’s previous directors include Sam Mendes, Cary Joji Fukunaga, Martin Campbell, Terence Young and Lewis Gilbert. Here are five filmmakers who could potentially join that list, and sooner rather than later.

If there is a name in the music industry that is synonymous with ‘genius’, it is most definitely Hans Zimmer. The film score composer whose face you might not have seen, but whose work you have certainly heard. The Dark Knight, Inception, Dune, the man has done it all and how! Basically, any film Hans Zimmer touches turns into gold, thanks to his unreplicable magic. With Oscars and Grammys to his name, he doesn’t just make music; he reinvents it.

Given the fact that Hans Zimmer has worked with huge franchises before – No Time to Die, Wonder Woman, Pirates of the Caribbean, and more – it is a little surprising that he hasn’t collaborated with Marvel Studios.

Hollywood is filled with filmmakers bringing out some of the most magical cinematic pieces out there. However, in this, Christopher Nolan can easily be leaps and bounds ahead of others with projects such as Oppenheimer, Inception, and The Dark Knight trilogy. But apart from this, he has also been a dream candidate to direct a James Bond movie.

For several years, different rumors emerged about his involvement in the franchise, but creative differences and studio constraints all stood in the way. But it seems like Amazon has other plans, and a James Bond movie directed by Nolan might become a reality in the near future.

Nolan’s First Film Inspiration (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Before making Inception, Interstellar, and Oppenheimer, Christopher Nolan was just a filmmaker with no budget. His first movie, Following (1998), was a low-budget thriller. It was about a writer who stalks people for inspiration. But the narrative wasn’t just fiction—it was roused by a real-life crime Nolan experienced. In an interview with Mental Floss, the movie maker said:
“You’d go out of your flat and you’d be surrounded by people. I became interested in the idea of looking at individuals and saying, ‘What’s that person’s story?’ Right around that time, somebody broke into the flat.”
Nolan once revealed that the idea for Following came after someone broke into his flat. At the time, he was living in a place with a plywood door—something he hadn’t thought much about until the break-in happened.

In the wake of Amazon’s surprise acquisition of creative control over the James Bond franchise from longtime stewards Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, the e-commerce giant faces a critical choice: What filmmaker will guide 007 into its new era?
There might be no time to die, but for Amazon, the right choice might be worth waiting for.
According to half a dozen industry insiders that spoke to TheWrap, Christopher Nolan remains both the top choice and the perfect filmmaker to reinvigorate Bond. Last week, another outlet reported that Nolan almost came close to directing a Bond movie after “Tenet,” yet he opted to direct “Oppenheimer” instead because Barbara Broccoli wouldn’t grant him final cut. Nolan is currently filming Universal’s “The Odyssey” which is set for theatrical release on July 17, 2026, so Nolan’s schedule might not align with Amazon’s immediate plans, but waiting for him to complete...

For some, family is everything. If you cross them in any way, there will be hell to pay. It is the nature of things, especially when your family wields power like a sword waiting to slice dissenters in twain. Today, Paramount+ is ready to give Guy Ritchie fans a taste of the filmmaker’s next star-studded series, Mobland, starring Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosman, and Helen Mirren. Paramount’s MobLand trailer is an explosive look at what happens when the wrong people think they can change the pecking order of a well-oiled criminal empire. Good luck with that, friend.
MobLand debuts on Paramount+ on March 30. It centers around two warring families based in London whose enterprises stretch across the globe and the fiercely loyal “fixer” charged with protecting one of them at all costs.

In the world of anime filmmaking, two names stand as titans for their craft: Hayao Miyazaki and Satoshi Kon. Though their creations are as varied as they can be in terms of tone, theme, and style, they share an undeniable mastery of storytelling that has left a lasting impact on both Japanese and international anime fans.

Miyazaki is famous for his whimsical, dreamlike tales that most often revolve around adventure, childhood, and environmental themes. Whereas Kon established a niche for grown-up, psychological fiction that blur the line between fantasy and reality. In many ways, Satoshi Kon was the perfect parallel to Hayao Miyazaki, a peer force whose brilliance existed in striking contrast to the Ghibli master’s warmth and accessibility.

2025 is in full swing, and with March just around the corner, it’s time for you to look ahead at the movies and series scheduled to depart Netflix throughout the month of March. The biggest notable TV series leaving is The Mindy Project, while hit films like Scooby-Doo and Love Again, among others, are also set to depart.
As always, Netflix’s library is constantly evolving. That means new titles are always on the way, but because Netflix licenses titles from big distributors, they’re not always on Netflix forever. When this license (or rental period) comes to an end, the movie or series leaves Netflix.
Note: This list will be constantly updated throughout February as we learn of more series and movies set to leave (typically 30 days before their departure). In the last few weeks of the month, Netflix...

The latest movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to feature the wall-crawler, Spider-Man: No Way Home, shattered expectations by bringing together all three iterations of Peter Parker on the big screen. However, the excitement we all felt while watching the movie was unfortunately followed by years of silence and waiting.
Very few could've anticipated it would take almost five years for one of Marvel's most popular characters to get another sequel. At this point, Avengers: Doomsday will hit screens before Spidey's fourth stand-alone adventure, which is saying something. Unfortunately, it seems we'll have to wait even longer than anticipated for Peter to have the spotlight to his own again... but not too much.

For decades, Leonardo DiCaprio has kept Hollywood on its toes by delivering the perfect blend of tabloid-worthy bad-boy charm and being idolized as a timeless movie star of classic and legendary films. His rise to fame following James Cameron’s 1997 opus Titanic was not in vain as the actor then kept proving himself as the industry’s next figurative golden goose.

In the immediate aftermath of Titanic, DiCaprio threw himself into a rigorous rite of passage to challenge his reputation as a heartthrob by working with the biggest names that the industry had to offer. Thus followed Steven Spielberg’s Catch Me If You Can, Clint Eastwood’s J. A Masterpiece of Suspense and Mystery
Let’s talk about why this film is such a gem. Christopher Nolan is best known for his massive blockbusters like Inception, Interstellar, and The Dark Knight, but The Prestige is arguably one of his most underrated masterpieces. It’s a gripping tale of obsession, rivalry, and sacrifice, wrapped in an intricate puzzle that keeps unraveling with every scene. Starring Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman as two feuding magicians in 19th-century London, this movie isn’t just about magic tricks—it’s about the dark lengths people go to in pursuit of greatness. And let’s not forget the stellar supporting cast,...

Image Source: Warner Bros Christopher Nolan is no stranger to pushing the boundaries of cinematic storytelling. Over the years, he has redefined what movies can achieve with groundbreaking works like Memento, The Dark Knight Trilogy, Interstellar, Tenet, and his latest historical opus, Oppenheimer. Known for his intricate plots, philosophical depth, and eye-popping visuals, Nolan’s films challenge audiences to rethink time, reality, and human connection. Yet, even among this stellar filmography, one title stands out as the purest example of his genius—Inception. Released in 2010, this masterpiece takes viewers on a mind-bending trip through layered dreamscapes. Its daring concept of “dreams within dreams,” coupled with stunning effects, Hans Zimmer’s iconic score, and an ambiguous ending that sparked endless debate, all cemented Inception as a modern classic. But what did Nolan himself think about creating this cinematic puzzle box? He once shared that Inception was one of his boldest risks as a filmmaker.

Is there any star working today with a career as varied as Marion Cotillard? Anyone who has moved as effortlessly between Hollywood blockbusters — Inception, Dark Knight, Public Enemies — and indies (The Immigrant and Macbeth), from slapstick action comedy like the Taxi films — the French pre-Fast and the Furious car racing franchise that first made her a star — to auteur dramas like Rust and Bone, Annette, and Two Days, One Night?

While this weekend’s SNL 50: The Anniversary Special has been scheduled for a while now, it wasn’t until very recently that we started to learn exactly which big-name guests would actually be performing.
Last week, NBC announced that the special would feature celebrity laugh riots Steve Martin, John Mulaney and Kim Kardashian. And this week, we finally found out which previous cast members would be returning to Studio 8H on Sunday, via a video in which giant SNL index cards appear to be hung throughout New York City. It kind of looked like Inception, if Inception took place inside of Lorne Michaels’ brain.
The special’s roster of ex-SNLers includes Molly Shannon, Eddie Murphy, Adam Sandler, Maya Rudolph, Tina Fey, Tracy Morgan, Kate McKinnon, Laraine Newman, Chris Rock, Andy Samberg and even Chevy Chase, just to name a few.
Oddly, Kenan Thompson is also listed as a returning SNL alumnus,...

Leonard Shelby can try to remember Sammy Jankis all he wants, but Guy Pearce would truly like to forget Memento. Despite Christopher Nolan’s film being a breakout for both the star and its director, Pearce insists he gives an absolutely terrible performance in it, even too bad to forget.
Speaking with The Times, Guy Pearce — who earned his share of acclaim for Memento, although most went to Nolan’s screenplay – admitted that his performance as the tattooed amnesiac is one he genuinely despises and it stands as the chief reason why he hasn’t worked with the director since. “…I’m having an existential crisis. I watched Memento the other day and I’m still depressed. I’m sh*t in that movie. I’d never thought that before, but I did this Q&a of Memento earlier this month and decided to actually watch the film again. But...

On the heels of the recent news that Elliot Page is set to re-team with Inception director Christopher Nolan on his upcoming adaptation of Homer's The Odyssey, we're hearing that The Umbrella Academy star might be in line for an MCU role in the near future.
Though we don't have many details, scooper Mttsh claims that Page has met with Marvel Studios for a potential part in an upcoming project.
As we're sure any fan of 20th Century Fox's now defunct X-Men franchise will be aware, this wouldn't be Page's first Marvel Comics role, as he - then still known as Ellen Page - played Kitty Pryde, aka Shadowcast, in X-Men: The Last Stand and Days of Future Past. Though it's highly unlikely that Page would be in talks to reprise that particular role, he could be on the studio's radar for the long-awaited X-Men reboot, as casting rumors...

In terms of modern filmmaking, it's hard to do better than Christopher Nolan. Even dating back to his early works such as "The Prestige" and "Memento," it was clear that this man was something special. Everyone is going to have their favorites and yes, to an extent, film is a subjective medium. That said, Nolan's broad critical acclaim coupled with his ability to deliver a commercial hit makes him unrivaled in the 2000s. Rather quantifiably, he has proven himself to be the most consistently bankable director working in Hollywood today, and one pretty eye-popping stat proves it.
Nolan had a run from 2008 to 2017 that was, in a word, ridiculous. That run includes the $1 billion beloved blockbuster smash "The Dark Knight," his mind-bending thriller "Inception," DC's one-time highest-grossing movie ever "The Dark Knight Rises," the ambitious modern sci-fi classic "Interstellar," and...

IMDb's Top 250 movies is a tough list for modern films to reach. It contains the best movies with the highest crowd-sourced ratings from any and all genres. Some of these are clear-cut candidates, like Adrien Brody's historical music biopic "The Pianist," which comes in 32nd on the list. Other movies are less sobering and more fantastical. For instance, all three of Peter Jackson's "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy films are in the top 12.
Sci-fi shows up a lot, too. "Interstellar" is ranked 19th. "The Matrix" is 16th. "The Empire Strikes Back" occupies the 15th spot, and "Inception" is the highest-ranked sci-fi of them all at 14th. With so many classics already on the list, it's hard for new releases to make the cut. Case in point, just three movies from 2024 were added to the list's hallowed ranks — two of which were from the sci-fi genre.

Did Christoper Nolan add more actors to The Odyssey’s cast list? (Photo Credit – Instagram)
All of these actors are also extremely well-known faces from the industry, including Elliot Page, Himesh Patel, and more.
Christopher Nolan is currently busy perfecting his star cast for his upcoming movie, ‘The Odyssey.’ The feature film is an adaptation of the Greek epic poem written by Homer. The storyline revolves around the Greek King Odysseus and his struggle-filled journey to his home in Ithaca from the Trojan War. On that 10-year journey, Odysseus had to face many hurdles and interruptions from many people (including Gods). The plot also covers how his wife and son deal with aggressive suitors while the King has been away from his kingdom.
Nolan’s feature project already confirmed the lead star cast, including Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Anne Hathaway, Charlize Theron and Jon Bernthal.

Did Elliot Page go on a double date with Leonardo DiCaprio and his mom? (Photo Credit – Instagram/Facebook)
While filming Inception, Leonardo DiCaprio, always the matchmaker, decided to set up his costar with a friend of his. But the plot thickens: DiCaprio tagged along, bringing his mother to join in on the date.
Elliot Page was in his early twenties during the Inception shoot, still navigating his sexuality. Although he hadn’t publicly identified as gay yet, he had shared past relationships with women with his mom. But, as Page explained in his memoir, he struggled with the pressure to conform to what others expected of him. “The closet was grueling, it suffocated me,” he wrote, revealing how he tried to “be the person so many wanted me to be” by dating men, though it never felt authentic.

Tom Hardy portrayed the character of Eddie Brock in Sony’s Venom franchise for six whole years. While the star is known for playing rugged characters on screen, it was his first time being part of a superhero franchise. Needless to say, he won over the fans very quickly with his fantastic performance.

His son was the one to properly introduce him to the character, and so when he got the script for the movie, the tug of war between the primal and logical self drew him in, and hence the titular character came alive...

Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey” has added four more names to its cast, including three stars the “Oppenheimer” filmmaker has worked with previously.
The Wrap has learned that Himesh Patel (“Station Eleven”), Elliot Page (“The Umbrella Academy”), Bill Irwin (“Legion”), and Samantha Morton (“Minority Report”) have all joined the cast of Nolan’s forthcoming adaptation of Homer’s epic Ancient Greek poem. The film’s latest additions join an ensemble that already includes Tom Holland, Matt Damon, Robert Pattinson, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlize Theron, John Leguizamo, and Jon Bernthal.
Earlier this week, Benny Safdie also signed on to star in “The Odyssey,” following his turn as Edward Teller in “Oppenheimer.” The new film marks a reunion, though, between not just Safdie and Nolan, but also the filmmaker and multiple past collaborators, including Damon, Pattinson, and Hathaway. What do you do when you’ve been to the vast reaches of space, reversed the temporal flow, ventured into the dreamscape – and, most importantly, swept the Oscars? With a three-hour, doom-laden, politically-driven historical drama, no less? In the wake of Oppenheimer, Christopher Nolan could do basically anything. His choice: go full Homer with an adaptation of epic Greek poem The Odyssey. It should add a new quiver to the legendary director’s bow – his first swords-and-sandals epic, possibly his first fantastical film, and one that brings him a new leading man.
With pre-production rapidly ramping up on Nolan’s next movie, here’s what we know so far:
Tom Holland is said to be the lead
It’s been a while since we’ve seen Tom Holland on our screens – following Uncharted and Apple TV drama The Crowded Room, he’s been treading the boards on the West End in Romeo & Juliet.

As usual, Christopher Nolan is stacking his next project with an all-star cast, and the latest additions include a few Nolan alumni. It’s been announced that Elliot Page, Himesh Patel, Bill Irwin, and Samantha Morton have joined The Odyssey, Nolan’s upcoming adaptation of Homer’s ancient Greek poem.
Page played Ariadne in Inception, while Patel played Mahir in Tenet. Irwin is also a Nolan veteran, but you wouldn’t recognize his face. Let’s talk about Hans Zimmer, shall we? This musical genius has given us so many incredible soundtracks over the years that picking a favorite feels almost impossible. From the heart-wrenching melodies of The Lion King to the cosmic grandeur of Interstellar, Zimmer has consistently pushed the boundaries of what film music can be.
But if we’re being honest – and we know this might stir up some debate – his work on Christopher Nolan’s mind-bending 2010 film Inception stands head and shoulders above the rest.

What makes it so special? Well, it’s not just about the music itself; it’s about how Zimmer managed to create a score that literally bends reality alongside the film’s narrative. The way he seamlessly blended orchestral and electronic elements wasn’t just innovative – it was revolutionary.

Leonardo DiCaprio is not only one of the most influential actors of Hollywood, but he is also one of the most eligible bachelors in the industry. While his dating history is long and colorful, there has never been a time where it has seemed he is ready to anchor himself with a partner.

Interestingly, things might have changed finally for the Oscar winner. The one to change his mind, of course, is none other than his current girlfriend model Vittoria Ceretti.
An insider recently claimed in an interview that right now their relationship is seemingly headed that exact way. Moreover, DiCaprio appears to be absolutely smitten with the 26-year-old model, which in itself seems to be a rarity according to his friends.

It's been 12 years since Ryan Coogler made his startlingly assured feature filmmaking debut with "Fruitvale Station," but he still feels like an unknown quantity as an artist. We know from "Creed" and "Black Panther" that he's got a knack for imbuing franchise movies with uncommon heart, and no shortage of swagger when it comes to staging dynamite action set pieces. But due to circumstances beyond his control (the death of Chadwick Boseman and the Covid-19 pandemic), he's only made one movie over the last seven years. That's a lot of time for a still-young filmmaker (he's 38) to sit on the sidelines, especially one whose oeuvre is curiously light on original movies.
That's not a knock on Coogler at all. Christopher Nolan directed a remake ("Insomnia") and three Batman movies en route to becoming the most prominent and praised studio filmmaker on the planet, so Coogler is in excellent company. But...

Leonardo DiCaprio Baywatch Story (Photo Credit – Facebook)
Did you know Leonardo DiCaprio nearly joined Baywatch? Yep, Hasselhoff’s decision kept him out of the iconic red swimsuit.
While talking to The Hollywood Reporter, Baywatch producers Michael Berk and Douglas Schwartz spilled the tea about what could have been. DiCaprio, then just a 15 y/o rising star, was ready to dive in as the son of Hasselhoff’s Mitch Buchannon. “We actually had DiCaprio ready to be cast,” Berk shared, setting the scene for a beachside drama that almost had Leo in its lifeguard lineup.
But, plot twist! Hasselhoff wasn’t sold on the idea. “David thought he was too old to play his son,” Schwartz explained, adding that Hasselhoff feared the casting would make him look older. Yeah, the Hoff wasn’t ready to be out-shined by a younger Leo. So, they gave the role to Jeremy Jackson, who was six years Leo’s junior.

How about the Hans Zimmer “bwong” sound in a national anthem? It could happen, with reports coming out of Saudi Arabia that the Oscar-winning composer is in talks to create, or re-create, the country’s national anthem.
In a report published in the Saudi newspaper Al Arabiya, the country’s head of General Entertainment Authority, Turki Al al-Sheikh, met with Zimmer and discussed various projects that the composer could potentially work on, including re-creating the national anthem by “using different instruments.”
The current Saudi anthem, called “The Chant of the Saudi Nation,” was written in 1947 by the Egyptian composer Abd al-Rahman al-Khatib at the request of the country’s founding monarch King Abdulaziz.
According to Al Arabiya, Al-Sheikh also discussed with Zimmer the possibility of a new, original composition called “Arabia,” as well as a possible concert. Zimmer is also reportedly in talks to work on the soundtrack for an...

28 Days Later marked the second collaboration for director Danny Boyle and screenwriter Alex Garland after 2000's The Beach. While the latter isn't widely seen as a seminal work for either creative, the former certainly is. The 2002 zombie thriller stars Cillian Murphy as Jim, a survivor who attempts to traverse London in search of sanctuary following the outbreak of the Rage Virus in the U.K.
Boyle and Garland returned as executive producers for the sequel, 28 Weeks Later (2007), but Boyle is now back as director and Garland as screenwriter for the upcoming 28 Years Later, which marks a reunion after 18 years of working on their own projects. In those 18 years, Boyle directed movies like Slumdog Millionaire (2008), 127 Hours (2010), and Steve Jobs (2015), while Garland moved into directing with projects like Ex Machina (2014), Annihilation (2018), and Civil War (2024). Now, it's been revealed why the pair didn't work together for so long.

The first movie that Christopher Nolan made for a big Hollywood studio is still the most underrated film of his career — and even the director himself agrees. Ever since his groundbreaking Batman reboot made him a household name, Nolan has practically been a franchise unto himself. Along with Quentin Tarantino, he’s one of the only filmmakers whose name alone can attract huge crowds to movie theaters. No one else could make a blockbuster out of a three-hour biopic of a physicist, but Oppenheimer became Nolan’s highest-grossing non-Batman movie (and third highest-grossing film overall).
Nolan is one of the only directors left who can command a nine-figure budget for an experimental original story. He earned enough trust with Warner Bros. to get them to commit as much money to movies like Inception, Interstellar, and Tenet as they would a reliable comic book movie. Nolan’s next film, a star-studded adaptation of The Odyssey,...
