So take a gold prospecting treasure seeking show and pretend your doing it on a type of paranormal hot spot . They actually setup game cameras and some local pretended to be shape shifting into Skinwalker . They actually put this in the show and expect people to believe it . It's a fake reality show for entertainment purposes .Circus folk with a budget.
Update season 3 has some fun moments . Regardless of fake or not it season 3 has some pretty fun entertainment . A prehistoric snake , quick sand , poachers ,.. definately fun.kinda stuff guys like technology and exploring and adventure .

This show plays off of the fame of Skinwalker Ranch, which is a superb show, by the way, but this show comes in from a very different tack. It's way less scientific and ecologically considerate, with some different mysteries connected to the location, as well as some similar phenomena, and the excitement of poachers, thieves and spies. I find it to be a satisfying continuation of a show I cannot get enough of (Skinwalker), but a zanier version. I call it the "Hillbilly Version of Skinwalker" when I describe it to others I'm recommending it to. The accredited professionals they have aiding their search on this show are real and serious about what they do. I believe there is credence in this show, the history, and their quest; it's just different. If you don't like it, so be it, spare us your rantings.

I have been in mining for years and that was the cleanest mine I have ever seen. The floor was perfectly flat. Never in an underground mine will that occur. No rocks piled along the rib or sides of the mine. After 50, 60 100 years a mine will sluff off material which piles up along the ribs. The back or top of the mine will drop material too. It all lays on the floor. Finally, when you use explosives to break rocks, they are jagged and rough. If you use a pick ax you strike from top to bottom. I saw something that looked like claw marks going to the side. Finally, in a mine that was first newly opened you blow a lot of air into that mine. Air it out. You never enter a mine that probably has black damp or poison air.
Look up pictures of old mine drifts. All fake.

I like it. Some of the things that happen are cheesy but I want to k ow what in there! It's better than oak island. That show has been on for multiple seasons & gotten nowhere. This is a fresh show on similar content. Starts off slow but gets better. Plus it being right next to skinwalker ranch makes a bit more intriguing.

Suspense, treasure hunting with the bonus of unpressured history tid bits and like the possibility of paranormal monsters then this is the show. It's fun. It has the right amount of reveal each episode which is satisfying. Don't over think it. It has the potential to be bingeworthy.

Reading all the one star reviews prove they didn't watch the show. The show never once said the Aztec came to Utah to mine for gold. They said they were trying to find somewhere to hide their gold from the Spanish. So, it would make sense not too hide it in gold rich areas as the Spanish may end up finding that gold and thus finding your treasure.
Thus the legend is they kept going north until out of the Spanish path. Add in a lot of old Utah legend and it gets interesting. There is a lot of weird untold history around Utah. Look up Lincoln and the Mormon's.
As to the show itself - it was interesting. I think the producers over did portions and didn't spend enough time on other parts.
Attacking the show because a guy has a beard and dreds once again shows you have no relative substance to your argument.

How to have no credibility - have dreadlocks at 40.
Combine Ghost Hunters and Burning Man with ridiculously bad local theater acting.
You'll see what I am talking about if you have an hour to waste.

I was excited because I thought this show was about retrieving gold from an underground cave that was hard to get to. It's disappointing because it rather focuses on a cursed or haunted land. Every supernatural moment, emergency, or finding is clearly staged will leave you either laughing or saying bull s$&t. It's sad because this show could have been better. A while ago, the History Channel stopped making shows about history and decided to focus on aliens and the end of the world. This show is an example of the Discovery Channel doing the same by focusing on ghosts, conspiracy theories, and false emergencies instead of great discoveries.

I mean it seems a bit cheesy, and so on, but it is very entertaining, and I like the mystery aspect real or not. It is not perfection by any means, but quite enjoyable to pass time. For those claiming it is all fake, I have seen LITERALLY the same few dozen guys make reviews on EVERY show similar to this, and say the same exact things. Semi Trolling all shows, makes me think they really did not WANT to like it.

If you like gold hunting, historical mysteries, & paranormal/supernatural phenomena, this show has it all. I've been fascinated by the skinwalker ranch phenomenon for years & am excited to see more.

I've only seen one episode so maybe I'm missing something. They show a box of logs underwater tied together with rope and want to know if it has been there for 45 years or 400 years. So what kind of rope will last for even a year underwater, much less 45 years or longer? The guy took a sample of the wood for testing. I'd like to see a test done on the miracle rope.
I like this show a lot. The negative reviews must be from people with no sense of adventure. The show is routinely entertaining and suspenseful. The format is typical reality show with repeated scenes before and after commercials, so that's why I say 8, not 9 or 10. Production does need to join 2022, and leave 2007 behind. Having said that, the guys involved in searching for the treasure are fun guys, with real personalities and their methods are unusual enough to provide some edge of your seat moments. Not sure why the negativity from others, but I plan to keep watching.
Bad show Bad actors.. obviously making more money off tv show... stringing us morons along and laughing all the way...!
Logs Very Obviously have been cut with a SAW...!!!
THE GEOLOGIST... A dud for the second time.
First time looking for rubies and gold in Greenland... That show was a bust too...!!!
He just jumped on another show that is a Fraud too.... watched for 10 minutes, enough for a reasonable mind to see... It Sucks...!!!

I like the show. I want to be entertained. I enjoy the interactions among the men. And if someone killed themselves outside of my gate, I would sure want to know why. I want to know who is watching these guys and why. I want to know what's in the box and why it's in the cave. This show is entertaining and I look forward to every episode.

160 acres is a dirt farm more than a ranch, When the Aztec empire only stretched as far as what is central present day Mexico, to believe that the Aztecs were mining for gold in present day Utah is somewhat preposterous. In fact the whole show is preposterous, a load of twaddle and definitely not worth watching.

So looking at some simple clues, the video footage doesn't make sense. The 'Aztec box' that is the center of the 'mystery' is supposedly over 500 years old. Look carefully at the video. The logs are barely coverd with any sediment, suggesting the logs have been buried for less then one year. Sorry Discovery, please do a better job with your soap opera series.
Eric Drummond - Ian disappointed to see you are a paid actor vs. An actual geologist. You should have stuck with ice cold gold...much more believable.

Seriously! If you have nothing else to do with your life, watch this show. Cleaning out that kitchen drawer that I've been meaning to get to is more enjoyable. The blind are leading the blind on this show. Dumber than a box of rocks!
