Twelve contestants arrive at Rival Peak to engage in a mysterious reality show of the same name. Nosh, Winter, Lilian make instant friends, while a spark strikes between LaPortia and Saabun (and Winter?). Coach finds a riddle, which everyone scrambles to solve.

The second week of the competition begins in the wake of the surprise vote reveal. The twelve contestants argue about whether wilderness survival or solving the riddle should take precedent and, despite interpersonal betrayals, divide into the riddle-focused "Puzzlers" and the raft-making "Builders."
