The writers of MTV’s Ridiculousness have officially bargained their first contract.

After the writers voted to organize under the Writers Guild of America West last year, the union announced Wednesday that they had achieved a deal covering all writing staff including creative consultants, supervising producers and the showrunner.

“The writers of Ridiculousness have shown incredible unity, courage and resolve throughout their organizing campaign for a Guild contract. I’m proud to welcome them into our union,” Wgaw President Meredith Stiehm said in a statement.

According to the WGA, the deal includes:

Minimum compensation per the WGA Minimum Basic Agreement Residuals in basic cable and other reuse markets WGA pension and health benefits, including paid parental leave Full season employment guarantees Regulation of the use of AI-generated written material in accordance with the Mba A grievance and arbitration procedure Holiday pay

Update: The votes are in and the National Labor Relations Board has confirmed that eight staffers on MTV’s Ridiculousness have voted to join WGA West. There are five days to raise objections, otherwise the unionization will be certified and the team can start bargaining a contract.

August 31: The writers of MTV’s Ridiculousness are coming closer to being unionized.

The show’s writing team, which was behind over 230 episodes last year, has been going through the process to unionize over the last few months, hoping to join their scripted peers, who have been on strike since May, in the WGA.

The writers on the show, which regularly airs for over 100 hours a week on MTV, have now filed their ballots for an election with the National Labor Relations Board (Nlrb) and Deadline understands that a large majority of them have been cast to unionize.

Saved by the Bell star Tiffani Thiessen quickly found her swimwear photo going viral last week.

The 48-year-old TV star updated her account with a figure showoff while in a dark bathing suit as she enjoyed the beach, but it was the caption doing it or fans as she admitted that she had been “caught” looking for a place to relieve herself.

Exclusive: MTV is staying in business with Sterling ‘Steelo’ Brim.

The host of MTV’s Ridiculousness has struck a first-look deal with Paramount+ and MTV Entertainment Studios.

The pact will see Brim develop, exec produce and appear on camera shows non-scripted and scripted shows produced by MTV Entertainment Studios across the ViacomCBS portfolio including nascent streamer Paramount+. Since season 17, Brim has also been a creative producer on the show.

The move comes as Ridiculousness is set to celebrate its tenth birthday next month. The show, which has run for 21 seasons since 2011, is co-hosted by Brim, Rob Dyrdek and Chanel West Coast. The clip show features various viral videos, usually involving failed stunts which the trio judge and mock on the series.

It comes as the franchise has started to grow with the company adding three spin-offs: Deliciousness, Messyness, and Adorableness.

In addition to his work on Ridiculousness, Brim hosts the popular Wine & Weed podcast.

MTV has picked up a third “Ridiculousness” spinoff.

The new show, “Adorableness,” joins Rob Dyrdek’s long-running clip show as well as previously announced spinoffs “Deliciousness,” hosted by Tiffani Thiessen, and “Messyness,” hosted by Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi.

Comedian James Davis will host the show, which promises “the cutest, snuggliest and most adorable clips ever,” according to the series description. “But don’t worry, it’s not all fluff… cute kids will turn sour, fluffy dogs will attack and little old ladies may just curse like a sailor – these are adorable clips with a bite.”

“How I Met Your Mother” alum Alyson Hannigan, “RuPaul’s Drag Race” judge Ross Mathews and “The Daily Show’s” Dulcé Sloan will serve as panelists.

MTV will debut “Adorableness” with back-to-back episodes at 7 p.m. Et/Pt every night for the week starting Monday, July 19. Watch a trailer above.

MTV has picked up another “Ridiculouness” spinoff, the network announced Friday.

Titled “Messyness,” the series “celebrates dating, partying and all of the messy stages experienced in young adulthood,” according to MTV’s description. “The new series indulges in the most debaucherous clips found on the internet – everything from awkward proposals, to nights out gone wrong and cheaters caught red handed.”

“Jersey Shore Family Vacation” star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi will host the series, which is slated to premiere late this year. She’ll be joined by panelists Tori Spellling, Adam Rippon and Teddy Ray.

The show is produced by MTV, Thrill One Media (formerly Superjacket Productions) and Gorilla Flicks.

The long-running “Ridiculousness,” hosted by Rob Dyrdek, has become a new franchise for MTV in recent months, with the food-themed spinoff “Deliciousness” debuting on the network last December.

Exclusive: From the producers of MTV’s Ridiculousness comes Messyness, a spinoff hosted by Jersey Shore‘s Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi.

Like the original MTV series hosted by Rob Dydrek, Messyness is a comedy clip series that indulges in the most debaucherous clips found on the internet – everything from awkward proposals, to nights out gone wrong and cheaters caught red handed. Messyness seeks to celebrate dating, partying and all the messy stages of young adulthood.

Also joining Snooki on the Messyness stage are panelists Tori Spelling, Adam Rippon and Teddy Ray. The series is currently in production and slated to premiere later this year.

Messyness is produced by Thrill One Media and Gorilla Flicks, with Rachel Tung and Jessica Zalkind serving as executive producers for MTV.

The Snooki-fronted series is the latest of the Ridiculousness spinoffs. In November, MTV ordered Deliciousness, a food-focused spinoff hosted by Alexa & Katie alumna Tiffani Thiessen.

After a year off, the MTV Movie & TV Awards are back and fully relishing the reigning supremacy of television in our lives. The MTV Movie and TV Awards are back for the first time since 2019 after the 2020 edition was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. And the awards are making up for lost time with not one, but two ceremonies: one for scripted movies and TV shows on May 16, and another for reality programming on May 17. “RuPaul’s Drag Race” is the most nominated reality series with four nominations: Best Competition Series, Best Reality Cast, Best Host (RuPaul Charles), and Best Fight (Kandy Muse vs. Tamisha Iman from “Untucked”). The UK version is also nominated for Best International Reality Series. This isn’t the first MTV recognition for “Drag Race.” It previously won Best Reality Competition in 2017 when scripted and unscripted shows were considered together in one ceremony.

MTV has given a Season 2 order to “Deliciousness,” it’s food-themed spinoff of unscripted series “Ridiculousness.”

“Saved by the Bell” star Tiffani Thiessen will return a host for the second season, as will panelists Angela Kinsey (“The Office”), Kel Mitchell and Tim Chantarangsu (“Basic to Bougie”). The show’s launch last year was part of a long in the works expansion of “Ridiculousness,” the Rob Drydek-hosted show that is more than 10 years into its run on the ViacomCBS cabler, into franchise territory. In its first season, the newer show enjoyed having “Ridiculousness” as a lead-in in primetime. “Deliciousness” features Thiessen, Kinsey, Mitchell and Chantarangsu reacting to the internet’s most viral and entertaining food videos.

MTV’s “Deliciousness,” a spinoff of “Ridiculousness” hosted by Tiffani Thiessen, features the internet’s most viral food videos and Variety has obtained an exclusive clip of two segments, “BBQ Af” and “31 Feelings” about barbecue and ice cream.

The clip shows Thiessen and the panelists reacting to barbecue fails, such as a possum family living in a grill and a viral video of a grill cook complaining about how there’s no cheese at any of the functions he attends. Meanwhile, the ice cream segment highlights our love for the dessert, featuring entertaining clips of a child’s elation when they try ice cream for the first time and misery when they drop a cone, as well as the lengths one will go to catch an ice cream truck.

With the series debuting Monday in the 7 p.m. Et time slot, the show averaged a 0.26 rating in Nielsen adults 18-49 demographic. That represents a 60% rise versus the P4W time period average. In addition, the show brought in 437,000 viewers on average across the hour. That is up 96% from the P4W time period average and 26% versus a year ago. “Deliciousness” will continue airing its holiday-themed kickoff week through Dec. 18 on TV.
