We love this this story. What a lovely film it makes. The music lifted my soul as it always does. Michael McLean is truly a master storyteller. If you love The Forgotten Carols... you already know that you must watch this film. If you're new to The Forgotten Carols... this is a must see movie this Christmas season.

I haven't seen the forgotten Carols before that I could recall, so until I saw the trailer I didn't know much about the storyline.
We were able to watch this two weeks ago with our family, and it was pretty amazing. We all loved it, even those who felt begrudged to watch it. An on screen stage play, it is done well, with gorgeous back drops and scenery, lighting, and beautiful music. I laughed so many times during this movie at the funny and fun parts, cried during the touching scenes, and felt my heart touched during many moments also. It really is a movie that people need to see and appreciate, with an open heart, as it can help you see the Spirit of Christmas, and how we can all be a little better people. A wonderful story, great acting, and lovely music. Highly recommend it.

This 2020 taped version of The Forgotten Carols is not good, don't waste your time and money. It is definitely not what has been performed at Cottonwood High school. The dialogue is very contrived, the musical arrangements are not the same, and struggle to convey the same emotions. Connie and the few soloist do a good job, but can't carry the show, especially the way it is currently arranged. Mary Let Me Hold Her Baby is such a beautiful song, but the singer in this version does not do it justice. Michael Maclean put himself into more of the songs, and I didn't think that addd to the production. The old adage of Show me, Don't tell me needed to be practiced in this production as Michael tries to tell you the story premise in an opening dialogue, but that is not at all affective.
It appears that the producer got in a hurry to release this film because the dialog is mixed in the LEFT channel ONLY instead of being mixed centered between left and right. It was mixed center in the trailer, but the film I purchased has all the dialog on the left and audience mic on the right. WHAT A RIPOFF! (yes, I can tell the difference since I am a production sound mixer and post audio editor for the motion picture industry)
