- How I Survived 2020 are stories of love, humor, drama and charm that are related to each other through the characters that cross from one chapter to another, to show that, although we are separated, we are not alone, that we depend on each other to survive, thanks to those small gestures of empathy that can change people's lives or make other people's lives a little easier.
- How I Survived 2020 are fictional stories, but they tell us about real people who, because of the coronavirus and preventive confinement, have had to change their way of living, of relating to others, of working, and have even had to change the way they love. Each home becomes an experiment for the Mockumentary, where the inhabitants forget, by force of habit, the presence of the cameras and let us into their daily lives, with their dramas and moments of comedy or charm, to witness the stories of families that have been separated by distance, working parents who are only now getting to know their children, couples in crisis or interrupted loves.
The protagonists of How I Survived 2020 will also tell the camera, as a diary, what they think and what they feel about the situations they lived through, they will tell their own story showing us their fears, struggles, joys and hopes. As Catalina, a nurse who is in the front line against the virus and lives at the same time a virtual love story with Jose, a teacher who undertakes a campaign to get electronic devices so that low-income students can receive virtual classes. Samuel, one of his students, who is sad because he misses his girlfriend and is not used to spending so much time with Paula, his mother, who doesn't even know what his favorite food is. Hernando, Paula's boss, who decided to keep her at her job, but demands too much overtime, since his company is on the verge of bankruptcy, and who only realizes that his marriage is falling apart when Libardo, his wife Eliana's lawyer, calls him to give him the news that she wants a divorce. Libardo, who is recently widowed and now does not know how to deal with his life, ends up getting help from whom he least expected, Olga, his maid. Olga, in turn, despite not being able to go to work due to the restrictions of confinement, continues to receive her salary from some of her bosses, such as Libardo. Maria, who after many months of unemployment, finally gets a job during the pandemic, thanks to an application of homes and becomes the anonymous angel that helps many families throughout the city, although Olga, his wife does not agree with her exposing her life to get some pesos.
Through these stories we will see up close the conflicts that the inhabitants of Bogota have to overcome to survive literally and emotionally in the midst of the pandemic. And it will also teach us that only by being united can we face the collapsing economies, the families that are separated, the anguish and the fear, so that the city can return to the way it was before or even, thanks to solidarity, much better.
