Javier bardem had excellent lines .. for example while giving to coin to the shop keeper , his dilouges were awesome.. bobby deol on the other hand would just smile sometimes , he had few lines at the end that were okay ... didn't impress a lot as compared to No country for old men .. the movie was on the similar canvas ... and lacked substance.
Love Hostel (2022) :
Movie Review -
Not taking you way back to the 60s and 70s, but just remember those love stories and those formulas made in the 80s. Two love birds, madly in love with each other, are on the run to save themselves from the family members who are against their love. Sometimes it was an honour killing issue, sometimes a tragic ending, but as a whole, we know those formulas. In the 80s, we had 'Ek Duje Ke Liye', 'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak' and in the 90s, there was 'Dil' to show us the modern definition of love with the same old formulas. Then recently we had the sensational 'Sairat' (2016), directed by Nagraj Manjule, which copied the same syllabus to write a new book of realistic cinema. ZEE5's latest release, Love Hostel, is nothing else but the same old story with a modernised version of violence, while it also adds the mandatory abusive words and vulgarity for the OTT audience. IT has to be there. Maybe it's some condition, I don't know. Love Hostel was supposed to be a love story surrounded by dangerous conflict, but instead it became more of a crime thriller with extreme levels of violence.
The film is about love birds belonging to different casts. Don't bother guessing that one is Hindi and one is Muslim; it's too mainstream, I mean. In the first scene, we see Ashu (Vikrant Massey) and Jyoti (Sanya Malhotra) getting married. They have decided to spend the rest of their lives together, despite the disapproval of family members. The decision puts them in danger as they are now being hunted by Dagar (Bobby Deol), a ruthless mercenary who will stop at nothing until his mission (or social work, as he describes it) is completed. What happens when the newly married couple faces the merciless killer several times and who wins the race at the end? Find out all the answers in Love Hostel.
Love Hostel has Vikrant Massey playing a complex character. He isn't sure about leaving the bad business behind and taking a good life forward, and Vikrant showcases this confused and unstable character very well. Not only does he have well-trimmed hair and a beard, but his expressions also speak volumes. Sanya Malhotra looks gorgeous as a newly wedded bride, but what's more interesting is how she switches that happiness into fear. Watch out for those prey-hunting chase sequences where she gathers almost everything needed for the character. The film is truly boosted by Bobby Deol's ferocious performance. He has almost single-handedly brought this outmoded script to life by portraying a merciless killer in all-perfect manners. There is no combat, no mindless action, just a pure, gun-filled killing spree in which Bobby shines in every scene. Not a single scene passes without him impressing you with his dialogue and attitude. Remember his attitude from 'Badal' (2000) and 'Bicchu' (1999)? Love Hostel will take you back to those Bobby Deol days. The supporting cast looks okay, with Raj Arjun walking away with a few noticeable scenes. That's the problem. Why only a few?
Written by Shanker Raman, Mehak Jamal, and Yogi Singha, the storyline of Love Hostel has nothing new to offer. It has everything that you have seen many times, but somehow, Raman's screenplay keeps it interesting. The violence is too high and horrible, so it might leave a weak-hearted audience shocked, especially female audiences. The cinematography looks good as the action and chase sequences cover most of the runtime on different locations. Vivek Shah's camera work makes those frames look good, but he also spoils the quality with those horrendous close-up shots. With the runtime falling just short of two hours, Love Hostel never bores you. Additionally, it doesn't have those useless songs, and as we all know, an intense background score is always a better choice in the thriller genre. Shaker Raman's last directorial, 'Leila' (2019), was a forgettable affair, and I'm afraid Love Hostel will have the same fate. Love Hostel couldn't have gone anywhere with such a piece of writing, but let's not blame Raman. He at least tried something different with his characters.
Adding more greyness to the character works here, but one must acknowledge the fact that the audience for it is comparatively smaller. Moreover, it's an adult film (18+), so you get the idea, right? OTT lovers may enjoy it somewhat, but not the family audience or rom-com lovers. It's your regular story, alright, but not your regular story all the way. Mind it. Overall, a modern day love slasher uplifted by Bobby Deol's most reckless and imprudent role recently.
RATING - 5/10*

Nice villain but it's alright. It's an average movie. Bobby Deol looks great but same 1 dimensional story . Cat and mouse play . You will enjoy the movie but same time you will feel boring.

Set against the khap panchayat versus inter religion marriages the movie sets the pace from the very first frame and maintains it till the very end
Bobby Deol is the cold blooded executer of the Khap Panchayat orders who doesn't blink an eye lid to pull a trigger is after a Jat-Muslim couple played by Vikrant Massey and Sanya Malhotra who have eloped and got married. This is majorly is the plot of the movie.
The movie keeps things raw, real and unapologetic. It doesn't fall into the typical Bollywood traps and that's what makes it different from the rest of the movies made on this subject. You might be reminded of Love Sex and Dhokha though on occasions which tackled a similar subject. It will shock you on occasions and even make you uncomfortable which a movie on such subject should.
The direction is mostly good and doesn't slip much. Performances wise Vikrant is reliable as always and Sanya is average. Her character is a bit half baked compared to others and that hampers her performance. But the star of the show is Bobby Deol who delivers a knockout performance as the cold blooded killer and you would like to see more of him on screen.
It's definitely not a masterpiece but a good watch. Don't expect a typical Bollywood thriller though.

My Rating : 2/10.
Why are movies like this even made? There's nothing going for this movie, while it is directed well in some parts the storyline is nothing unique and totally bland.
Lacks substance and while the actors have done their job for their pay check, the writers have absolutely missed the mark on this and just filled it with a one-dimensional villain shooting everyone and everything in sight.
Very disappointing.

The concept of this film is ages old and similar to Dhadak (2018). So you can say that this film is a simple straightforward one with an ending you can predict if you have watched these honor killing films. However, what makes it a superior product to Dhadak are :-
1. Raw feel to the film and interesting screenplay. Good capture of Haryana and typical high class families that live there.
2. No over dramatization. Even in a scene when Vikrant sees his dead mother , there is no over dramatization with him crying like a mad broken person or some "aaaaaa" music playing in the background. This is a good thing.
3. Bobby deol's terrific performance as a cold blooded assassin who thinks 0 times before shooting anyone , Girl or boy, dead. I think we haven't seen a cold blooded assassin like him in recent times. Sanya too shines as a strong girl who doesn't fear men .
4. No dances . Only two beautiful songs playing in thr background as the film progresses that's it.
Now this film is definitely not perfect:-
1. Bobby's weird accent got my skin crawling and it's not a positive at all. Somehow I wanted him to just not talk at all (though he has very little djalogues ).
2. The police angle! Police chasing Bobby where did they disappear suddenly in the end?
3. No novelty to the story line. No twist nothing! I was expecting a twist at least one but there is none.
Overall, just a good one time watch. Had it not been for the positives I mentioned this film would have been no more than a 2 star out of 10.

Acting, setup & direction is really good but the story has so many plotholes that it becomes unbearable in the end. I was praying the leads get killed before anybody else gets killed.
Bobby Deol looks good but murders everywhere, like in a Baraat, hotel, lawyers home - no media, no attention, seriously?? His character ate up all the suspense & tension built before. Why is he literally killing everything that moves!!!!
The girl is a CA in Delhi but they don't plan to elope to other city, rather stay in a safehouse inaugurated by her own Grandmom, who is supposed to be an MLA!!
They're themselves running for their lives but piling up new people like the guy's mom and her sister. What sort of stupidity is this yaar??
The way the couple was fighting like kids, had immature eloping plan or ran away despite one is a CA & other is a shopkeeper involved with criminal activities- really makes you think what you're trying to glorify for upcoming generations!

All the badassery and headshots aside, this is a pretty depressing series and the message it is trying to convey doesn't come through clean.
Has a few well acted brilliant moments.

The movie is only blood bath without any reason
The story is of north india where love marriage is not acceptable and so the couples goes to court to get safety of their lives from their parents and society and then they are kept in ugly safe house called LOVE HOSTEL...Vikrant is the only positive factor in this movie who has acted well rest bobby is just killing people without any reason
Probably the intention of makers were to make a dark movie but sorry it was ugly..the factors which make the movie dark are intense scenes, facial expressions, background scores ,strong content but here everything was missing..bobby said his reason for killings in just one line
If you like to see blood in nearly all the scenes then this is for you.

Finally something nice came, everyone's acting is nice, cinematography is cool, crime suspense is loaded, a Must watch movie for genre lovers. Superb acting and back ground music is okay okay.
The movie tackles pertinent social issues but the execution could have been better. Particularly in the case of the character of Dagar and the threat he represents is shown as larger than life, yet people don't recognise him on the streets. The last two twists added a new flavour to the film.

There is no story as such, they just had some concept and stretched it for 1.5 hours.
Giving 3 starts only for performances. Vikrant Massey deserves better scripts.

With all three lead characters natural performance trying hard to save the flick on the edge of hit....so give a chance for this passable flick....also a climax for not being too usual stereotype.

Anti climatic vague and plagiarised. Looks like someone with deep pockets and an itch to get into movie production hired whatever he could lay hands on and came up with this dud. It's fast but that's the only thing that lets you overcome the stupidity.

Love hostel is Raw, Ruthless, and talks about honor killing and love with such brilliance. Maybe the movie hasn't shown everything but it still answers every question if you watch it closely. Action is top-notch and bloody. Though it feels that the movie's climax could have been better but you won't regret watching it, especially for its performances, camerawork!
Wonder why Bollywood is collapsing. Is it out of creativity? Why so anti hindu and why love jihad is bullywood's favourite topic. Bollywood is completely rejected day by day. South indian movies are taking over hindi cinema.

Bobby deol's charecter is inspired cheaply by - No country for old man
The writers need to think of a better story and not just write like a 10 year old kid.

Love Hostel is a dark and gloomy tale on honour killings. It is a fast paced thriller that demands atleast a one time watch. The film paints a haunting real picture of North India where the inter caste/inter faith marriages remain a daunting task while the evil of honour killing still prevails.
Vikrant Massey & Sanya Malhotra are brilliant to watch expectedly. However Bobby Deol steals the show here playing a ruthless killer with aplomb. This is yet another dark character for him after Aashram and he is terrific. This dark and twisted drama thriller is a perfect watch for the OTT audience.

This dramatic romantic thriller was a blast to watch! The film has a lot of layers to it, with each scene improving on the one before it. The plot is well-written, and the cast is brilliantly chosen. Everyone did a fantastic job!

Same old fake narrative...Hindus are bad Muslims are good...don't these guys get tired of setting false stories which is opposite of reality? I mean Love Jihad in India is so real that it can be depressing for some Hindu families with daughters.
