Killed during the war in Iraq, 2nd lieutenant Bart Gregory's (David Anders) body is shipped back to Los Angeles for burial. The night after his funeral, Bart suddenly awakens in his grave. After digging his way out, he contacts his best friend Joey Luebner (Chris Wylde). Together, they figure out that Bart needs human blood to arrest the decomposition of his body, and what better way to get it than by becoming Vigilante Gunslingers!
The Revenant was filmed from a screenplay written by director Kerry Prior.
After trying numerous ways to kill himself without any effect, Bart hops on the Metro, drinks the blood of a fellow passenger, then escapes to a hilltop with the police and SWAT teams not far behind. As the sun begins to come up, he falls into his dead sleep, and the police in hazmat suits close in on him. Bart awakens that evening to find that he's been strapped in a glass container and placed in a line with dozens of other "subjects", including Joey's severed head. A scientist is leading a group of other scientists and military personnel on a tour of the facilities. A general asks Bart whether he was once a soldier, which Bart confirms. "Good. You'll have an advantage," the general replies before moving on. In the next scene, Bart is encased in another canister along with dozens of canisters containing his fellow revenants, and they are being air-dropped over Khuzestan Province, Iran. When his canister hits the ground, it pops open, releasing Bart.
