Based on a true story
Travelling to Africa was always a big dream for Violeta Barca-Fontana, and in 2004 she was able to fulfil it. She was given the opportunity to shoot a documentary that portrayed all the tribes they encountered in their passage, many of them located in remote places. During that trip, which lasted almost a month, many things happened to them. They were in danger many times, but without a doubt, the hardest situation she found herself in was the one Violeta try to tell in this story.
When a woman finds herself in such a situation, the first thing she thinks about is that she is going to be raped. Her surprise was when she learned that her colleagues hadn't even thought of it. She realized then how lonely she was, not only because she knew they couldn't do anything about what was foreseeable to happen, but because for her, and Violeta believes that for all women, in a situation like this, being raped is the first fear that arises even before death. This short film aims to reflect on the different points of view and how we react to the same event. A woman in such a situation reflects on these three possibilities: "Maybe nothing will happen...", "They'll rape me, I'd better leave myself so that they don't hurt me" and "I don't intend to put up with this... I prefer to fight even if they kill me".
