Finely performed and decently written with cynical dark humor and insightful views on human essentiality this Colombian famiy crime saga is a surprisingly refreshing, convincingly violent and efficiently entertaining Latino take on the mobster genre.

From the title, Dogwashers, I wasn't exactly expecting a movie about a spa for canines but this was a surprise. A cocaine addicted drug lord goes crazy when he learns another gang is after him. He finds out which of his own gang is loyal and who is just there out of fear. This movie is slow-paced and could use some serious editing as scenes drag on for no apparent reason. It's a dismal flick with no heroes and just victims. I can't recommend it unless you've had a really good day and want to end it on a downer.

Stop the nationalist chauvinism, this is the real underground Colombia. Although the plot has some loose ends and some characters deserved more development, this Guy Ritchie like production shows the decadence of a drug lord, the racism, the male chauvinism besides the classical beauty pageant lady who married a drug dealer, because average low-middle class Colombian woman is raised like that. Oh unfortunately, if she is pretty OUR society tells to find the narc to pays her tastes. And the nasty if not idiotic side of authorities. But certainly a mirror of our reality.

Seems like a decent movie, but past the time and twisted to nonsense movie, too much stories too many short stories and ending in nothing, nothing in common and take your attention for nothing, waste my time, do not see this boring movie, bad movie,
Although I hail from L. A., my heart will always be in CALI, COLOMBIA. I called this vibrant city "HOME" from May, 1985 until August, 2001. It is hard for me to imagine anyone who, like me, lived in CALI a long time, or who was born and raised there, not having a really clear & definitive visceral reaction to DOGWASHERS! ...If You are from New York City, or, like me, from L. A.... You have seen innumerable films with your hometown as a backdrop! CALI has appeared only in a handful.... Especially, as depicted in DOGWASHERS, where the Director undoubtedly was keenly aware of this reality and seemed to make a point of on-screen driving around to showcase different well-known CALI neighborhoods and principal thoroughfares.
Focusing on the movie itself: The characters are all portrayed in a manner that is starkly and utterly convincing! Although I must admit never having interacted with anyone similar to the lowlifes depicted in the film... They struck me as slice-of-life believable! Looking at the IMDb Profiles of the cast... Most of them apparently have never appeared in any other productions.... So, they could be classified as "AMATEURS"! Director Carlos Moreno has done an absolutely exquisite job coaxing(?) phenomanally natural performances out of the entire cast!... There is, in an oblique way, a touch of the CLASSICAL in DOGWASHERS, in the sense that, when you come right down to it...GREEK TRAGEDY, would be a fitting description! Probably, as so often is the case in films produced in a different language... Just about all of the subtle culture-clash nuances will be completely lost... But there is enough universality in DOGWASHERS... to make it highly enjoyable and well worth your time! 8********

Nothing makes sense in this film. Slow as hell 55 minutes to explain the plot.

This is a great movie, with a awesome story line and with great actings, very recommended, with the correct action, the correct comedy, and with a great script. If you like the narcos movies you should see this film.
Lavaperros is a slice of life film of small town thugs in Colombia's Cauca region. Chocked to the brim with dark humor, and a varied cast of characters, I found it a refreshing change from overly self-conscious American crime dramas. Nihilism at its best. KILLER SOUND TRACK.

An unexpected gem: philosophical and surprising.
Tulua, Valle Del Cauca, Colombia is there and it is real.
