Creature Commandos is very nearly here and while Rick Flag Sr. clearly has a bright future in the Dcu, only time will tell what becomes of Task Force M's other members.

The DC Studios co-head shared on social media that the filming for the second season of the superhero series starring John Cena has been completed.

Warner Bros., which owns the rights to DC Comics characters, originally launched the Dceu in an attempt to compete with Disney’s and Marvel’s MCU. However, the project, led by Zack Snyder, failed due to a series of controversial decisions and poorly received films.

Eventually, Snyder was replaced as Warner Bros. searched for someone to save their shared universe.

Enter James Gunn. When Gunn took over the Dceu, which was in disarray, he chose to start fresh and build a new universe, now called the Dcu. His Superman movie, starring David Corenswet, will be the first major release in this new era, coming out early next year.

You're used to us sharing MCU rumours on a regular basis but, for the most part, the Dcu isn't the subject of quite so many leaks. Then, there's the small matter of DC Studios co-ceo James Gunn debunking them as quickly as they're reported!

Well, we have some Dcu updates from Nexus Point News' @ApocHorseman for you today. The biggest revelation is that The Authority is reportedly being reworked as an animated feature; if accurate, this is a huge change but one which makes sense given how obscure those characters are (and how positive early word on Creature Commandos has been). 

Talking of team-ups, it's said that early plans for Teen Titans call for the lineup to be the same as the animated series. That means we're getting Robin (the scooper admits he doesn't know which one), Starfire, Raven, Beast Boy, and Cyborg. 

As for the mysterious Bane/Deathstroke movie,...

Creature Commandos will be our first taste of James Gunn and DC Studios' new Dcu. While the review embargo doesn't lift until December 2 (we'll share our verdict then), early word on the animated series is very positive.

Whether that will translate to all-important streaming viewership remains to be seen, though DC Studios is riding high after the success of Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story and The Penguin. As a result, interest in the show appears high.

Now, Creature Commandos showrunner Dean Lorey has addressed the possibility of a second season. "Yeah, we absolutely want to do a second season," he told Screen Rant. "There's no particular five-season plan or anything like that. But we definitely want to do another season."

"You will see, at the end of the first season, some of the characters that might be part of that, and there's a lot of fun to come, I hope.

However, comic accuracy means something different to every fan, something Gunn pointed out during a recent exchange with fans on social media.
