This movie was actually pretty good, certainly not as bad as the 1 star reviewers want to make you believe.
For some people there seems to exist only 1 or 10 star ratings and nothing in between.
6/10.

Believe all the negative reviews about this lame flick because they got it spot on. This movie sucked major ass all the way thru. From lousy acting to bad story telling to terrible scene dialogs, this was just awful. The mother and the daughter in law, aka wanna be sexy killer did the most atrocious acting out of everyone else. And the ending was simply ridiculous. Who's behind producing all of these garbage films coming out lately? 2022 film studios need to stop this nonsense......Ugh!

A couple of reviews here are bashing other reviewers for giving this movie a 1 or 2, but I don't know what they're smoking; this movie is absolute garbage. The plot is utter rubbish, the dialogue trash, and the music score awful. Most importantly, it's listed as an action movie, but there is like one real action scene in the entire movie, at the very end, and it's terrible. Do yourself a favour and don't waste an hour and half of your life on this movie. I really wish I could redo the time I lost on this one...

The film gets a little slow but that makes sense because it's clearly inspired by old westerns like Shane and Hondo (two films with one cowboy guy protecting a woman and child in a dangerous west environment).
I'm a big Neal McDonough fan. Grew up watching Band of Brothers with my dad and later enjoyed him as a baddie in Walking Tall and Arrow. He was also in Resident evil, which I just saw and actually liked.
It was cool to see him be this western hero in a modern world.
Cinematography was awesome.
Loved the score.
Fun cast.
Some brilliant and fun action scenes (one with a spoon in a man's neck).
My only gripe is it was marketed as more of an action film and it's really a slow burn, which I do like a lot, but I can see action-fan boys and people who want carnage and gore throughout the run time to be a little let down.
Not at all as bad as these reviews are stating. Just a little slow but big payoff.
7/10.

I was going to give this movie a average 5 star rating, then as it went along it became a 4 star rating and by the end it was 3 stars.
Character development-none...for anyone.
Writing...25% of the movie is someone screaming out the other person's name.
Plot...god question, when you find out let me know.
Drama/thriller...you do not care who get shot or why. There is no sympathy for any character.
Smart decision...maybe one, that the movie ends in 87 minutes and not destroy two or more hours of your life. Besides that, the movie continues to make the wrong decision. Not a single person ever called 911, including law enforcement.
Direction...patheic....a shootout in the middle of town and no one notices? I have a head start and multiple vehicles but I decide to stay for and wait for the villians because of what reason? Don't know.
Acting...there are some capable B-actors, but they are working with crappy scripts.
Just skip it.

I hardly believe what I see, Neil Mc Donough, a usual supporting villain character, a heir of Lee Van Cleef, Robert Wilke, John Doucette, Skip Homeier, Jack Lambert.... So what a surprise for me to see him as an anti hero role, a professional killer wounded after a "contract" and then helped by a woman - a priest - who has "trouble" with mobsters. The following is very predictable, you can foresee it miles ahead. But it works for this good little B crime movie without any pretention. So please watch it as it is, don't expect too much, it is not a film destined to festivals, only streaming platforms and DVD racks. Some kind of modern times western with McDonough playing Jason Statham or JCVD as he was in the nineties.

This was fun. I grew up on western films and war flicks and this was definitely inspired those. Old school hero and some great action scenes but definitely felt we needed more Tommy Flanagan!
Loved the score, the look of the film and the acting was awesome.
Decent film to catch, especially if you're a fan of the genre.

This is a TV-level, slow-moving action story with excellent actors who save the movie from being much worse than it is. Nothing special about the plot except it's mostly older people (e.g., McDonough and Flanagan) with far less-than-believable backstories. Like almost all of these B- low-budget films, it relies on the frustrating stupidity of the characters to extend the action, but I'm only deducting 1 point for that (since at least they didn't knock down a bad guy and then fail to take his gun : ) but also had to deduct a point for the silly female antagonist, a cliché cardboard player who's ridiculous evilness makes the whole thing less realistic.

Solid slow burn action flick that they don't make many of these days - think Bronson flicks.
Might be a little too slow burn for some, but the dramatic tension built up to the last 20-30 minutes is worth it imho.

This film is worth 1.5 hours of your time, provided you're sitting in your man cave polishing your collection of firearms. Yeah, it's that kind of movie.
Neal McDonough plays the title character, Boon, with cool flare. Sure, it's a rehashed plot - the burnout hitman who has developed a conscience and decided to quit the game only to be dragged back into the lifestyle - but most plots recycle something. Don't let that get in the way of your fun!
You'll certainly enjoy Mr. McDonough's work in this movie, and fans of "Son's of Anarchy" will note Tommy Flanagan's portrayal of Mr. Fitzgerald. Truly menacing on both accounts!
So, grab a six pack and a bag of chips, prop your feet and watch. You won't see this one win an Oscar, but I bet Boon will entertain you!

Up until 1 min til the end i would have give 4 or 5 outta 10 -the movie is meh ok for 1 time watch but the acting is terrible but it has good actors so not sure whats gone wrong there -and then there is the ending like they ran outa film to give 0 closure 3/10 avoid - and as for teh i voters that rated this 7 or higher uggh.
Didn't co-writer Neal McDonough notice all the scenes where he needed dialogue, but instead just sat there twiddling his fingers or looking out into space? I actually felt bad that Christiane Seidel's character was yacking away non stop telling her story without any participation from McDonough to assist or compliment her dialogue.
Then you have co-writer and director Derek Presley who just kept the film rolling in those awkward long and dragged out scenes. Seriously, amateur hour writing and directing.
I'm a fan of McDonough, and although when he actually acted (instead of being quiet and twiddling his thumbs looking spaced out), he was good, but when you add the other cliched stereotype characters and their dialogue, everything just went downhill. Even Tommy Flanagan was stale and difficult to understand. The most annoying character though, was Christina Ochoa as Emilia, who's tough-girl act was phony, and as ridiculous as her random verbal diarrhea in another language (the viewer is expected to understand?).
To make matters worse, there was nothing new in this story that's been done many times over, starting in the 80's, and done much better, even back then. The pacing was horrible, and when added to the suspenseless, plot-hole-riddled writing and directing, the normally comfortable 95 min runtime felt endless. There was maybe 5 minutes of some sort of action towards the end, but that's it. Everything else was tumbleweed rolling by the deserted saloon town.
It's too bad, because even as cliched at this was, it could've so easily been much better had the right director and writers been hired. The best qualities were the very good and fitting score (surprising for a B film), and some decent cinematography and landscape shots. It's a generous 5/10 from me.

Who are the people who populate this film, what are their motivations, backstories or plans? No attempt to flesh any of this out almost as if this was episode 5 of an established TV series despite being a really slow first half as it crawls to a poorly executed and illogical shootout, a waste of even these 'C' list actors!

I wasn't expecting to like this, because the lead actor usually plays a bad guy. I did enjoy the storyline except for the ending. This is a "b" movie but found it a worthwhile watch. I see a lot of disagreement on the film, but decide for yourself.

And it looks like their already working in inflating it with fake ratings. You'll see soon that the bad reviews arent going to line up with the high ratings on here because people who are bad at movies have to pay to stack them higher. Don't believe it. Everything this guy makes is ridiculous and Boon is no exception. Don't let them fool you. Save your time and your money.

The reviews for this film so far are way off.
Good film.
Certainly better than anything B22 films could try to do.
Greenbennygreen and Frazenk - two reviewers - are actually the same hateful person that for some reason is jealous...Anyways.
Slow burn western with some fun action.

Another amateur hour effort from a team who doesn't look to be getting better any time soon. The budgets get bigger but the movies get worse and how do you even do that? Do yourself a favor and watch anything elese. Even one of there other ones if you can make it through them. This is just bad and embarrassing.
The movie reminds me of everything I enjoy about going to the movies. In my case as a shutin the experience was particularly singular. So my experience may not be he same as yours. I am a fan of the goodie's and the baddies style of feature we have here. I'm in heaven when it comes to movies like these. Thank goodness for the outrageous escapism this film exhibits. Had a wonderful time watching this film!
As a low budget film, this movie offers everything I expected to see. It is a fairly slow moving story, with routine shoot-outs and justice seeking protagonists with a background we're not so sure about. There are scenes where you are just routing for the good guy and want to know what happens next. An easy watch, with nothing over the top spectacular, but there are a few scenes that bring euphoria to the viewer. Looking forward to an action-packed sequel. Curious to know what they do with the characters.

It puzzles me how productions such as this get funded. Plots don't have to be that original, but you can drive trucks through the holes in this one. Scripts don't have to be brilliant, but this one seems like a film school class in how not to write one. We can forgive weak points in acting, but much of the acting in this would be embarassing in a junior high school. Watching it through was as fascinating as a slow motion train wreck.

Decent actors acting averagely.
Laughable SFX.
Plot almost non-existent and overall really boring.
Some nice camera shots here and there though.
If they went for less known actors and used that money for better effects, It might've turned out better but don't waste your time.
Seriously, I read the other reviews before watching and thought "oh a modern western, that's right up my alley" but I was sorely disappointed and I'm sure you will be too.
