Ohio-based indie studio Good Deed Entertainment is teaming up with genre filmmaking team Dana Kippel and Ryan Jack Connell on their upcoming psychological thriller The Pink House, writes Deadline.

Kippel and Ryan Jack Connell both star in and direct the film from their own script.

“Connell plays an introverted, mysterious young man on the run from the law who sets down in a small town that appears to be inhabited only by women.

“He rents a guest house from two peculiar but charismatic women, played by Patterson and Kippel, who live in a building known as ‘The Pink House’.

“As he attempts to move on with his life, these two women begin to pervade his personal space, both physically and psychologically.

“When strange and horrific things start to happen, the young man does research on the women and the house, leading him to a terrifying discovery.”

Ghost Town takes place in a boomtown gone bust and involves prostitutes. But that’s where the similarities end, rather than a drama this is a horror film about what seems to be a rather literal ghost town.

Solomon is a drifter in dire straights. His horse has died, he’s out of money and his gun has gone missing. Luckily for him, there’s a town visible in the distance, and a job working for Hagan the owner of the local saloon and whorehouse. It's been a little over a year since last we spoke about Brad Dourif's new flick, Death and Cremation, but with the passage of time has come a DVD release date, and we've got the skinny on what to expect and when.

In anticipation of the upcoming release of Hellhounds on DVD (February 16th), we thought it might be interesting to talk with child actor-turned-director Rick Schroder. With Hellhounds, Schroder is a far cry from his days on the set of “Silver Spoons” or even “NYPD Blue.”

Schroder is taking genre fans to the underworld in an epic journey of a young Greek warrior who must rescue his love from the murderous grips of Hades.

Below, Schroder talks about Hellhounds, what film made him want to be an actor, and his upcoming projects, including Locker 13, an anthology film comprised of six vignettes that are connected by a mysterious Locker 13.

Heather Wixson: How did you get involved with the Hellhounds project?

Rick Schroder: I knew the producers since 1988. I worked for them on the western Lonesome Dove. I had just finished making the TV version of “Journey to the Center of the Earth...

Hellhounds by director Ricky Schroder was already released on television earlier this year, but in case you missed the flick Hellhounds will release on DVD February 16th, 2010. Ricky takes on the Greek myths of old to tell a tale of the undead in Hades, and an epic warrior who challenges Theron (minion of Hades). The excitement kicks off next year, however, the poster art for the film is available here along with a synopis and second one-sheet below.

So let me get this straight, Rick Schroder quit NYPD Blue to raise a family and to direct bad Sci-Fi channel (I refuse to call it the "Syfy" channel) movies? At least the cover art for the Hellhounds DVD looks decent enough... I'm not so sure about the actual film. You can get yourself a copy of Hellhounds on February 16, 2010. The summer-released SyFy film Hellhounds , directed by Rick Schroder (yes, the actor), is getting a DVD release on February 16 and the timing for this Greek mythology-fueled creature feature couldn't be better. Warner Bros. releases the Clash of the Titans remake the following month. The Sci-Fi Channel's name change to Syfy makes me think of a scene from the classic miniseries "Roots". The evil white man wanted to change Kunta Kinte's name to Toby. They whipped him until he said it. Afterwards, a fellow African told him they can call him whatever they want; he knows his true name is Kunta Kinte. Bonnie Hammer can use that bullwhip on me all she wants; I know that Syfy will always be Sci-Fi, and not just because the words are pronounced exactly the same.

SyFy... do I really have to spell it that way? ... is kicking up its summer season shortly with a bevy of content that you'll either find fun and frothy or will force you claw your eyes out with mellon-ballers.

Either way, the pain is the same.

Oh, I kid! I love the SyFy Channel. It's like your Uncle Zebbidiah who mutters an endless series of amusing but quite incomprehensible babblings; you keep inviting him over because, well, he's family and it's your duty to look after him, insanity and all. Plus, every once in a while, he plays a great hand of poker.

Coming up this summer is the return of Eureka on July 10th and Ghost Hunters on July 8th.

New this summer is Warehouse 13 an action / comedy about the people who look after all that strange magical and extra-terrestrial stuff we always hear about but never quite see.
