They are not Padma Lakshmi nor are they Noel and Sandy. If they could bring any of the charisma, style or charm to that these folks bring to Top Chef or The Great British Baking Show I could tolerate them. They are talking heads with no charm and add nothing to this show. Without the hosts this show could develop a real following.
I didn't notice until the 3rd episode the contestants were wearing same clothes. once i noticed, it felt very irritating to see them repetitively wearing those clothes. Overall the show was good

Just watched this (first) season and enjoyed it immensely. Great cast and contestants. Not overly produced. Minimal drama. Just a feel-good chronicle of amazing pit masters doing what they do best. I highly recommend this show (at least the first season) and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

I like this show as it is very informative and definitely makes the mouth water....... but WHY do they wear the same clothes every episode ? It is something that just bothers me continuously !

Great show and Great food. The best cooking competition show I've seen in a long time. The camaraderie that the cast and contestants have really show the heart behind this show. Wish we got more from the hosts but it's still just the first season. If you love food and good people then you will most likely love this show.
Can't wait for more!!
The Competitors are well picked, and I like to watch them cook. Great personalities, but all of the Judges and the Moderators are so annoying, it's hard to watch.

This programme is a great concept, love the environment and some of the challenges.
The challenges however are so unfairly distributed across the participants. The show wants people to fail and not succeed. Poorly executed show.
Melissa Is the main judge and she is totally insufferable. Constantly tells us how amazing she is and how terrible the participants are. No encouragement or support at all!

OK I I am glad that everyone is noticing the same thing. after like the fourth episode they're all wearing the same clothes. From the judges to the competitors. So they're cooking and sweating all day and then have to go put the same clothes back on? this is clearly done over a period of weeks. they're smoking food, barbecuing, so they're outside all day and damn near every challenge is five hours long. So why are they wearing the same clothes every day?
I like the show don't get me wrong I love cooking shows. But are they not allowed to wear different clothes?

This is my first time seeing or hearing about Melissa Cookston and I really don't like her. Now I want to get this out of the way first I don't doubt her cooking abilities or skills, but I find her attitude crappy and the way she carry's herself is annoying. She gives off that I'm better than everyone else and I know everything vibes, Every time she's on screen it kills the mood immediately on the spot, she'll also make over exaggerated faces while talking to competitors and she'll look at them like they are stupid it's so frustrating even if it's fake it doesn't make her any more likeable. She's also biased throughout the series, as others have pointed out she and she herself said she doesn't really like onions, vinegary things or cold cheese. And in season 2 they complained about rare beef which is understandable for some but rare beef is still good in cases and is fairly popular, as cooks they should be willing to give it a fair shot, sure it's not medium rare or medium but they acted like it was a crime that T did that and they basically insulted him for it. She also wants people to make Spicy food but she always complains if something is too spicy for her it's weird
I'll use Gordon Ramsay as an example to compare them. And I'm not talking about his over the top character he plays in us tv programs but how he actually carry's himself and acts. I've never really seen him complain about specific foods he doesn't like. He tries everything and gives peoples food fair chances. He doesn't look at people like they are inferior or stupid just for explaining the cooking process or what they are preparing, he's willing to wait and try it and he'll travel and learn different cultures cooking and food practices. He hardly ever brags about himself to others and how successful he was. Whereas Alissa in this show just screams I think I'm the greatest and everything is below me and I know everything. Again I know it's a judges job to critique and give suggestions to competitors but she almost always gives them this face of confusion or disgust it's so blatant and it just kills the entertainment and vibe that the competitors bring every time she does it to someone and she does it to EVERYONE multiple times each episode
The other main judge doesn't really challenge her on food it's usually just them both agreeing which is fine if they both have similar tastes but then there's the other judges who get even less than half the screen time of the main judges and they cut their opinions out of the show so they are pretty much pointless and it feels like they have no real say
The competitors are almost all likeable, charismatic, talented and they bring their interesting unique cooking styles to the show. I'm half way in season 2 and I'm still enjoying it. The only thing really keeping me from giving this show a higher rating than a 6 is the judges.
Overall I think anyone who's into bbq or cooking challenges will enjoy this if you're able to ignore the judges weird faces or biases they have towards the competitors and food.

Yes, this is a BBQ contest show stretched out over 8 days. However, I found it to be much more than that. In these contestants we saw class, quality of character, respect, admiration, and teamwork. This is a group of people who reminded me if what Americans used to be - good people. These folks truly rejoiced in each others success and shed tears at failures and departures. Watch this for the quality people, getting hungry is just a bonus.
I guess Lyric Lewis is supposed to be a cohost to Rutlage Wood, but she brings nothing to the show. If she gets one line per episode thats a lot. BTW never heard of her before.

The cast and contestants make this show a real pleasure to watch. There is just enough angst in the competition to spice things up without there being too much drama. The contestants obviously like each other and help each other out which must be unique in a contest. I like all them and don't want any of them to go home! Great show!

It's real, it's tasty! No unnecessary extra's in the show. It's all about bbq and friends, love it! Would cut one of the presenters because the man and woman don't really add so much to the show. And yeah they don't change clothes bit it doesn't bother me at all.

I really enjoyed this show. A group of people all there to win a competition while still showing respect and love for one another. They were all pushed out of their comfort zones and created great meals. I definitely learned a thing or two and picked up on some pointers. But honestly my favorite part was the unity amongst the competitors! You just don't see that anymore. BBQ and food bringing people together!

Get rid of that judge!!
Melissa is so cocky & egotistical!
Loved the contestants, and enjoyed watching what they came up with, but that judge Melissa was too uppity!

Good concept of a show reminds me a bit of British baking show but the Judges need to be replaced, They all judge on personal likes and dislikes like the sandwich episode where Melissa disliked a sandwich just because it has onions on it!! Who cares if you don't like onions it shouldn't matter. Anyway good show regardless.. maybe more focus on the food and preparation instead cutting to the judges talk half the episode.
This show has some fantastic contestants with some really fun challenges. I really enjoy watching the cooking portion but Melissa Cookston is an absolute vile individual and has no respect for anyone. From her outfits to her disrespectful comments and plotting against contestants from the start, it's appalling. The potential of this fun and charismatic show could be great but unfortunately I do not see it doing well after this 2nd season. I pushed through the 1st season because the contestants made it worth while but I found myself fast forwarding through awkward and rude situations created by Melissa. The 2nd season followed suit. I quit after the first episode because I simply couldn't stand to watch Melissa's foul attitude any longer.

Good show but change clothes because it seems very strange that you have the same for all episodes .
